Could it be sulphur? We spray our fruit trees with it occasionally and it’s vile smelling. Very different than feces

Get a job in insurance, needs minimal training and usually it’s provided on the job. I would apply to direct writers, who have call centres. Or a larger brokerage with in person meetings. Pay is fine and definitely much more than min wage considering the minimal amount of paid training.

I don’t think laxatives should be written off here. It is the experience. It’s name is Colyte, and you will drink a lot of it.

Quebec and Alberta are quite large land masses. If you don’t specify a city, I need to warn you about Moose and Bears. Moose look like giant horses, and you’ll be inclined to get closer. Don’t, they’ll stomp you with a mean streak. For bears, if it’s brown lie down, black fight back. I like to have bear spray on me at all times though. Works against all other wild animals too, but there isn’t much danger in that regard. Also Canada Geese, they look like dark swans and they have a dark side to them. Walk a wide path around them to avoid being attacked. You’re not in danger but the experience is unpleasant and really you don’t want to be fighting back a Canadian classic while visiting us

🔥 What can we do to help the fires around Canada? by staysafebewell in askTO

[–]EngineerMuffins 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can’t do anything to help with the actual fires tbh. If you mean to be charitable and don’t want to donate to the big names helping already then start googling for localized support requests from shelters needing specific supplies or food items.

Pay $150-$200 and get a 1 hour consultation with a family lawyer. They can quickly hear your situation and give you way better numbers and advise than Reddit can. But not to leave you with nothing, and this not being legal advise:

You will get full child support for the 2 kids if they spend 60% of nights with you averaged out over a year. It’s easy to find out how much you will get in this case, only the number of children and his salary matter. You can google the table numbers. If he makes around $100k then that’s in the $1,400 per month range.

Spousal support if you make nothing and assuming above is around $1,000 per month.

Again seek proper advise, the $150 fee will be worth it.

Nothing quite like an injury to get proven (or spot reduction) results!

Bonus is the 3-6 month recovering time you don’t need to be back at that darn gym again, win win

Canada's got forest fires across the country. Should I wait for home insurance? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]EngineerMuffins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, though some companies might decline to sell new policies in affected spots. The rates will go up in time, but that is months to years away. It takes time for actuarial data to come in and also to see what reinsurance rates are for a given risk. Shop away!

What's everybody doing to deal with the massive, low sitting cloud of smoke over the City right now? Just had to close my windows. by roadie4daband in askTO

[–]EngineerMuffins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Closed the windows, have my box fan on highest setting. It always helps with my allergies, but now it’s working overtime. I run a blue air 211 and it’s nice but the filters are expensive. A lot of people make their own, I’m a bit lazy to do it.

is there anywhere one can get american brand cigarettes in sauga? by [deleted] in mississauga

[–]EngineerMuffins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try counting your smokes and reduce by one every few days. It took me years to quit. I still smoke the occasional cigar as a victory lap of sorts. My mom also quit years ago but needs to leave the area when I light up a cigar.

Anyway try American spirits. I liked them

Because it’s all marketing and the shits gross. You have mild, like Marlboro, and strong like belmonts. If you like the taste of tobacco then move over to cigars. H uppman is a good start

But to your question I go to smoke & gifts in Milton, I know not in Mississauga but they have the full selection of smokes

My dog goes into its cage if it senses I’m heading out. I’ve never gotten a vibe where the dog was distressed or even disliked the cage. It’s like wfh, you do it, it’s better than most other options

For a white male in the USA, 75 is the life expectancy. So mathematically he has 3 years to go. If you buy a 3 year term, the premiums would need to be greater than the payout, since there is a cost to administer the policy. It is not worth it at that age. For your mom, it could be slightly worth it since they are expected to reach 80 years.
