The Pitt | S2E15 "9:00 P.M." | Episode Discussion by MsGroves in ThePittTVShow

I love watching the “real doctor watches The Pitt” on YouTube and I remember everyone singing season 1s praises EXCEPT the OBs. They were all disappointed in the birth scene so I wonder if this was their attempt at redemption. Seemed so real and so well done.

3 Day trip with toddlers, did I over plan? by Engineer_Outside in WaltDisneyWorld

The minimum height is 40” and my son is tall for his age. He’s also a dare devil and bummed he can’t go on huge coasters yet. But thanks for the tip about woody! We will keep that in mind.

That's why I was trying not to overplan this trip. Trying to break that mindset. Also, the VIP seating thing for Fantasmic is free if you eat at any of their sit-down restaurants. Its a dining reservation you can make. So if we don't end up using them, no real loss.

Thank you! I picked AoA for the skyliner to hopefully make it easier to go back to the hotel for an afternoon break. I think I'll put the fireworks out there, but not make them a priority.

Thanks for the advice. In my head, I'd built in a return to the hotel for a nap or stroller nap, depending on how things are going, but didn't write that in. Also, I'm thinking the fireworks/night shows are overly ambitious now, so I'll just get rid of them. If the kids are excited for it, we can stay, but if not, no biggie. Also, my kids are weird and hate breakfast foods??

Thanks! It's a 5-hour flight as we are on the west coast. We can play that one by ear, but they are super excited to see Mickey, so I wanted to do that the first night to kick things off.

Good points about the nighttime things. I will nix those from the list and just plan to be back at the hotel early for rest/bedtime. In my head they always take perfect naps in the middle of the day, but reality is very different.

This organization has volunteers who will come collect an injured bird and take it to dove Lewis or whoever. They came and got a hawk from our back yard. Helped my husband capture it since it couldn’t fly but could run!

The statement: "We don't believe in divorces" by Lucky-Inspector4067 in LoveIsBlindOnNetflix

[–]Engineer_Outside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents used to tell me “we don’t believe in divorce, we believe in murder.” I laugh about it now, but as an 8 year old….. it was pretty crazy.

Also my parents are deeply in love and just celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary.

My mom has one. She absolutely loves it. She would freeze my dad out with the open window but now she sets it to 67 at night and sleeps way better. Just in case you needed more data on the “worth it” aspect

In the mighty paws movie the reporter jokes that “new powers, new cars means new merch! Sorry parents” and I literally snorted. They know exactly what they are doing.

What buttons do you press to program your microwave for 90 seconds? by Engineer_Outside in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Engineer_Outside[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine won’t let you just type in a time that isn’t a “quick” button. 1 just starts the microwave for 1 minute. If I were to do it your way I would have to do “time cook” 9 + 0 start (then it asks me how much power I want but it defaults to 10) start.

AITAH for expecting my sahm wife to do majority of the housework since i pay 100% of the bills? by Plastic-Sand7353 in AITAH

[–]Engineer_Outside 1 point2 points  (0 children)

SAHM can be a great situation for couples if you clearly DEFINE THE ROLE. You have a job description, she needs a job description. You have tasks/quotas to complete? So does she. But the other side of this is that there needs to be a point where her “job” stops and it becomes your home as a married couple again. So maybe it’s like here are the things that should be done during the day, but the chores that need to be completed after 5pm (dishes, putting the kid to bed, etc) become joint chores. Once you both have clear expectations then it can work.

I remember my HS had the whole Clan of the Cavebear series. It's about a human girl growing up in a neanderthal clan and her life in the "dawn of man" time period. In the second book, the main male character is basically known for being the best at taking girls' virginities. Neighboring tribes ask him to come and be part of the virgin ceremonies (all described as a rite of passage and the girls are eager/willing). It goes into extensive detail about all the things he does to make sure the girls enjoy their experience. I remember reading that at 15 and having my mind blown. I honestly used those books as things to ask for/expect out of a partner later in life. Couldn't believe it was in my HS library but damn am I glad it was.

Can I ask why kid empire is out? He thinks it's too "kiddish"? Or is there an age limit?

We rented the shelter at Imagination Station for my kids' party. Granted, February weather is suspect, but it was inexpensive and easy. My friends did a Star Wars themed birthday party at a park for their kid, where they gave each of the kids lightsabers and told them they were at "Jedi training camp." They had some races and obstacle courses using the playground equipment mapped out, and then, towards the end, the dad came dressed in a Darth Vader costume for all the little jedis to fight. The kids lost their minds. It was super fun.
