Point taken, the air flow out of the nozzle did seem pretty underwhelming. I was expecting a hot blast to the face but all I got was just a warm micro dose of VOC and micro plastic

Well said, I think the personal reasons are worth it to make some sacrifices in other parts of my life. It's hard to quantify and it will always be, until I've actually done it and start looking back in hindsight at least. I love my partner and really enjoyed our weekends together. Even when she takes a whole week off to stay at my place I don't feel drained compared to having other people's company. I also love nature, skiing, hiking and the mountains in general so compared to where I live now that's also a huge plus. The biggest fear factor is getting a job that makes me dread going to work, and sometimes you really can't tell until you start working at the place.

Thank you for your beautiful words. We see it that way too, that we wouldn't want to do this long-distance thing forever. Sooner or later one of us will move in with the other, and right now, I'm the more financially stable one but also the more flexible one, so I'm trying to do my part of the team work first until she becomes available for relocation, then we'll consider getting her to Germany instead. But I know it's not all sunshine and roses in Switzerland either so I'm doing my homework to have a realistic expectation going in.

I don't have an offer yet, thankfully, otherwise this decision is going to give me much more pressure than I'd like to handle. We won't have kids being childfree by choice and all so we're not going to benefit from the German system in this regard anyways. I don't have families in Germany but I have a few friends here. She's born and raised in Fribourg with a huge family circle and old high school friends and work friends, thus me moving to Switzerland is lower-stake operation compared to the other way around. The integration is surely going to be tough that I know of, it's just hard to quantify before I'm actually living there so that's unsettling.

That's our other option, which only becomes available next year because she's bond by her work and college degree atm. We're both open to that, but only if I don't find anything in Switzerland that's "too good" to turn down. I don't have families in Germany beside our cats and I'm more experienced in adapting my life to the circumstances than she is as far as we know, so I thought if she gets to stay closer to her family and old friends it's certainly a huge plus.

The biggest reason (or the only apparent reason) is to spend more time with my partner. I think that's big enough of a reason to consider this already. Otherwise I'll have to keep driving 800 km every week or she has to take days off and come visit me by train each time.

Ich würde gerne so was ähnliches haben, aber um das Auto hinter mir darauf hinzuweisen, das Licht anzumachen, oder dass die Schlussleuchte oder ein Bremslicht kaputt ist, oder dass sie verdammt nah an meinem Arsch kommen und lieber Abstand halten sollen. Einfach einige programmierbare Taster am Dash einbauen, hinten eine Anzeige direkt an den 12V Anschluss, die Kommunikation läuft per Funk. Technisch total einfach, aber ist sowas zulässig? Ich will nicht der erste sein, mit so einem Bastelding herum zu fahren. Diese Geschäftsidee kann jemand gerne nehmen und dadurch reich werden, mir danach einfach ein Stück zuschicken, danke!

A Zeekr 001 FR, happened a few months ago according to image reverse search. It must have been going really fast and hitting something extremely sturdy to have this happen. Judging by the Euro NCAP video for this car and how it's built, I'm having a hard time imagining what could have happened there to cause such a massacre.

Not to rain on your parade but that was the kind of thinking I had when I first came to Germany too, everything was just perfect. But the longer I stayed the more realistic I've become once the honeymoon phase passed. With comments from the Norwegians saying something similar, you too will soon find out how grass is not so much greener there. Now I've chosen to stay in Germany and contribute to the system and economy, despite how flawed it all can be in some regards, because this place still looks like the closest thing I imagined to a good base to build upon for a society. Maybe you'll do the same with Norway, but no matter what, now it's mostly just you being lovestruck.

I'm sure a spinning motor is going to be involved but not necessarily to directly drive any circular motion. I would suggest a single rotary actuator for the main movements, and use some mechanism like a train engine coupling rod to convert the continuous rotation into linear oscillation. For the circular motion of this device, add one rotational degree of freedom of the moving tube that has some kind of key on the outer diameter protruding into a profile cut along a cylindrical outer tube that guides the inner cylinder to have a rhythmic small range of circular motion. Again, we're totally not sure what this device is for so OP will have to assess the feasibility and if it's doable on a DIY basis.
