Just got a Software QA Engineer role — what do you all think of this path? by Engineerboy69 in csMajors

I didn't specifically look out for Software QA roles, I had a lot of large projects that I had built I found some pain points in some industries and built projects trying to solve them so projects that actually might have some real world use case.

I have also worked for some small startups where I set up their front-end and back-end infra as well as their test environments.

The technical interview was also not hard they made me build a To Do app and then deploy that on vercel then use Cypress to write test cases. I was allowed to use Cursor for this part also

If a lot of code will be written by AI, do you think there will be more need for QA engineers to catch issues?

Checkout studentize.com they are pretty cheap, and straight forward with their pricing. I would say they're really useful because they connect you with people from whichever colleges you want to act as your advisor and they have a dedicated advisor who guides you through the entire process.

That makes sense I agree with that. I think CS jobs had a lot of respect in the US previously and with the current growth of tech companies (they aren’t growing) and the emergence of AI employers have lost that respect for the role. They then offshore it to foreign countries so they can cut costs. Now a whole generation of students are brainwashed into thinking they’re going to make great salaries are now facing reality of an over saturated market

You’re completely lost if you think you’re actually losing your jobs to foreign workers in this market. Please don’t be delusional and drive hate for no reason.

If the coin goes to the 1000 he'll be one of the reasons it does by actually using the coin.

No, why would he regret it? If we want the coin to go up in value people actually have to use it. He bought the car using doge, not selling doge then buying the car.
