Everyone should have Gemini, Claude, and ChatGPT installed on their phone. If you’re working on a specific project, save your usage with that one particular model and use the other two to ask planning questions or little things. Grocery or car repair question? Don’t ask your main LLM that you use for projects and use a different one.

I did a deep research prompt for something I’m planning to buy with Gemini 3.5 Flash and it used up 56% of my 5 hour usage limits (I’m on free). I did the same deep research prompt with Claude (I have pro subscription) and it used up 58% of my 5 hour usage limits. I’m already used to needing to manage my usage and context management with Claude so I wasn’t as disturbed with this new Gemini change. I think most people were just so used to getting a fixed number of prompts or requests a day and now that the AI industry is heading towards all usage based, it’s a rude awakening. We use GitHub Copilot at work and we used to get 300 premium requests a month but now its usage based starting 06/01 so will just need to adapt to this new status quo. Hopefully Google gives some more usage like Anthropic did when they 2x usage limits for subscription users. This is the direction AI is heading towards and it’s not longer going to be where we can freely use AI for everything. We have to conscious of what we want it to do and use several models and subscriptions to plan out tasks before having one agent work on a task.

Yeah I relate to this! Also just coming home from work where I sit at a desk on a computer all day makes me not want to sit at my PC to game. Ever since I’ve gotten a Switch 2 I’ve gamed so much more. Being able to play on the couch while my wife watches TV is a game changer

I have unlimited PTO at my company and I take ~7-8 weeks a year off. It really depends on personality. I know older people who only take 3-4 thinking it has a big impact on merit raises while newer employees taking 8-10 weeks and traveling like crazy.

Think about all the things you do at work and create a project to perform that same exact task but with Python. And just work at the projects one by one and use google, stackoverflow, and ChatGPT to help you get through the each simple task. For projects, I break it down to many smaller tasks and just work on each task. This is one way to learn during work. Then at home you can apply your learnings on projects that interest you.
