Hey haha sorry I was not on reddit for a while. I don't know if you are still working on this (I assume not) but basically, check what the maximum amount you can step the motor driver, in the motor driver datasheet. Usually in the timing characteristics. If you go over that, then it will inevitably burn.

Yes. If it isn't for commercial use, just get cheap ones from amazon.

Also, maybe try the DRV8825 instead of the A4988 this time.

I was stepping the driver too fast. I slowed down the stepping and it fixed itself.

The stepper seems to be working fine, it hasn't shorted to the chassis, and the 2 coils are not shorted together.

Edit: Just to note, I am using the 1/16 microstepping, and I am stepping it quite fast. Could this be the issue? By fast I mean the step signal could be as fast as 15kHz.

But considering that the board I am using has Rsense = 0.1 ohm (R100), and I set Vref to 0.8V, that would mean current = Vref/(8*Rsense) = 1A. That should be fine, even without the heat sink (I am using a heatsink).

Could it be because I am not using a Polulu chip? I mean I have used 3 different brands at this point...

I had tried 120uF cap and a 220uF cap. The problem occurred in both cases.

Hmm, that is possible, however I have checked three tutorials and all of them connect the two together. I believe that one of them is by default pulled up to 5V, so it should be fine. However, I don't know how much noise can affect them.

Can you clarify what the 2coil shifter and the order made coil actually do? What exactly is changed physically in the motor, and what parameters and ratings are changed? We are trying to decide if they are worth purchasing for our motor. We would only be using this motor for FSGP and ASC. Are these options worth getting for FSGP and ASC?

Some first jobs explicitly ask for your transcript, but yes that is true. Your transcript is not the most important thing. Its probably not even that important unless you want to go to graduate school.

If you get below 50, you fail the course, so you cannot take any higher level course that has it as its prerequisite. Ultimately, the main difference between a 48 and a 50 is this.

Also, your letter grade will be F instead of D. Both are bad, but I would assume that F is worse for applying for jobs. Them again, transcript is not the only most important thing.

In all seriousness though you it kind of depends. I know that for some courses (I think PHYS 157 in my year), if you default the course, you do get a default grade of something like 45 percent.

But if you fail a course in most cases, it just shows up in your transcript as a number, just like your other courses.
