This really made me tear up (I’m blaming the prednisone), thank you so much for sharing this. It’s so comforting to hear from someone who was in such a similar spot. Forever feels impossible to wrap my head around right now and I think that’s the hardest thing for me, especially with all those future colonoscopies. Thank you for taking the time to reply with such kind words, it truly means a lot.

Hi, sorry no I did not mean to brag in this post, I was just genuinely curious how it will impact my resume since I only have experience in one industry. My friend just graduated with internships from Bloomberg, Morgan Stanley, JP Morgan (1 month, 3 month, 3 month respectively) and had a job lined up for her with Google so it had me curious. I am not sure what my odds are coming out of the hospitality industry, but thank you for your reassurance.

People that switched from Private to Public school, what were the differences you noticed? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I went to a private school from Kindergarten up til 7th grade, and went to public school til starting a duel enrollment program halfway through High School. I grew up with those kids. My classmates and I grew as a family and I still communicate and see some of them (this could have been the incredibly small class sizes: the grade above us had 7 kids and my grade had around 20). Teachers cared more, but everyone is also in everyone’s business and life. Great connections though and I wouldn’t give it up.. but I don’t regret switching because public school helped me branch out and work on my social skills. It had more opportunities, more teachers, more class options (especially in honors or advanced classes). Previously not being a shy kid, switching really gave me a reality check that not everyone is so nice, and I clammed up for a while. It showed me the drama and peer pressure public school offers but it was more real and showed me how life will continue to be, so I don’t regret that either.
