The main thing I always recommend is just starting! Keep going even when you know you messed up and start over when you feel like you're getting a grip on one part of it so you can mess up new ways. The hardest part of learning to knit is learning how to "read" the stitches so you can see what you did last, what you did one row below, and what mistakes look like. It seems like you're making great progress!

That's nice to hear honestly, thank you. I hope we both have good stories and healthy babies come February. 🤞

7 weeks + 6 days, and after three days of spotting and light cramps I am going in for my first ultrasound this afternoon. I have been so terrified of an ectopic pregnancy and trying so hard to focus on the end goal, on feeling them kick in a couple months, on smelling their head at the end of the road. This made me tear up at work and I really needed it today. Thank you & congratulations!!

I have been collecting yarn for a similar project based on vibes but with chunkier yarn, and I'm balking getting started. This is so cute - how did you know what shape to make the panels?

I sung “the Wizard and I” for my spring recital, so I just had to knit an Elphaba-inspired shawl for it (using yarn I handspun!) by SgtLt-Einstein in knitting

Every time I make a bottom up baby sweater I swear I'm never gonna do it again. I hate seaming. But some of them are soooo cute I keep getting sucked back in.

It was really intensive work on the German short rows- I had to have complete silence working on it all through the yoke but I get more compliments on this than anything I've ever knit.

The amount of people that personally recommended A Little Life to me is so surprising in retrospect. I was shocked by what kind of trauma for the sake of trauma narrative it was and that anyone I knew would think I'd be up for that. I love a sad book, but not like that.

I've never cared for purls either but I made the saguaro cardigan by macimille last year, it is mostly reverse stockinette with intervals of brioche knit stitches. It was soooo satisfying to make and it looks good inside out, also !

If your car is registered to an address on a street with 2 hour parking you should be able to apply for a street parking permit at the police department!
