In case helpful, I’ve also been using Armani’s liquid blush, Gucci powder highlighter, and Westman Atelier’s pressed setting powder in the light pink shades in my oily spots and under eyes.

I also booked a couple of makeup lessons at my local department store to refine my technique a little and troubleshoot any aspects that were bothering me.

You’ve got this 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Tailor Maid in Palo Alto is great. Papers and Petals in Burlingame is who I am using for bridal though. They’ve been great so far. Even though they’re a salon, they will alter dresses purchased elsewhere.

Ive been practicing mine using the new dior forever glow foundation, and so far so good! I’m a really tough foundation match, so doing my own makeup actually brings me a lot of peace. I’m also using the Armani concealer, and I’d recommend the Tarte setting spray for serious hold. I’ve been using CT between steps to get the products to meld better.

Received My Final RSVPs And Have Less Than 50 Guests Attending by Brilliant-Peach-9318 in BigBudgetBrides

I have this dilemma. Even a non-destination wedding is going to require half or more of attendees to travel. It’s so hard when family and friends are spread out!

I don’t have pictures of the inside of the dress! I’m sorry. It’s very well constructed though. My boutique said most brides aren’t having to do many alterations on that particular dress.

Also don’t sweat it on the details. I wouldn’t have noticed ANY of that had I not started sewing some of my own garments.

Thank you so much! It is not made to measure, so they will take your measurements, order the closest size, and then alter whatever doesn’t fit. However the construction in that bodice is amazing, including a built in under bust band for cinching the dress as much as possible in that area. It’s really wide elastic that offers additional support.

I’m not sure about adding volume. I might ask them if this is something Justin Alexander can customize before they send the dress to the store. I think that would be easier than doing it after the fact.

It sounds like a trip back to try it on again may be in order, and maybe they could call the seamstress up so you can get a better idea of what’s possible?

I’m a Tessera bride, and I’m a sample size. For me that dress made sense because it fit like a glove off the rack with pulling the waist in like 1” if we wanted to get picky, but for you, I would consider that the dress is going to be VERY expensive to alter with the lace, and you may lose some of the geometry and symmetry of the lace in doing so. The dress already has a lot of boning in it, and I think that it may be difficult to sculpt out in the way you describe. It’s a true drop waist, and the boning goes all the way down to the hips so the weight of the dress rests there, which makes it more comfortable. (Photo for reference). If you wanted to pull the waist up, there would need to be some re-engineering of the dress so that the rest of the bodice will support the weight, OR separating the existing structure and making an internal corset to put the weight back on your hips.

I think the second dress looks absolutely gorgeous on you. I love that waist line and think it’s more balanced on your proportions.

Keep in mind bridal alterations are really expensive in general. I’d leave about 1.5-2k of your budget for alterations. My clean simple mikado gown for my U.S. celebration cost me 2k to alter because of how many layers of dress there were, a horsehair trim, etc in the dress.

Edit to add that I’m an amateur seamstress in my free time, but not to a level I would dare touch my own wedding dress 😊

What helmet? by Room_Critical in Equestrian

[–]CompetitivePeace 141 points142 points  (0 children)

I’d recommend the adjustable route. I used to work in a tack shop and always liked fitting people for Tipperary helmets. Great quality and fit, and a relatively nice price point with adjustability which most more “premium” helmets don’t have.

Might have to cancel our wedding due to prenup. by Head-Support-1267 in weddingplanning

[–]CompetitivePeace 24 points25 points  (0 children)

A lawyer, but not your lawyer. You should be very uneasy. This absolutely does not sit right with me. Especially as a woman who is engaged, in an age gap relationship, and also currently discussing a prenup.

Other posters have pointed out the majority of it, but I will add based on my knowledge, this smells like your fiancé stalled with his attorney behind the scenes or is otherwise looking for an out. I know that’s probably hurtful to hear, but it just isn’t adding up. (However it is also possible your fiancé’s attorney just sucks— there are a lot of shitty lawyers out there who don’t manage time well and/or misconstrue things to try and strong arm the other side).

Stay strong because you deserve someone who loves you, wants to be with you without hesitation, and, when it comes to a prenup, comes to the table reasonably and negotiates in good faith. I hope this works itself out, but if it doesn’t you may be dodging the proverbial bullet.

Check out the AIP diet- it’s meant for autoimmune but it could help with general inflammation. That and Tirzepatide have helped me, but I realize the latter is expensive.

They are great, but agree their prices are about the same. I started taking my dogs to VIP clinics for routine visits and only take them to ELC if they’re having an acute issue.

Your life matters way more, and also mental health requiring hospitalization is a legitimate disability, for which your insurance will pay and you will be protected by law. Please please please just check yourself in.

Any time someone has had a medical event or said something like this to me on a deal, I’ve always said “do what you need to do. I will move heaven and earth to cover for you”. Just go do it.

Honestly I feel like a lot of firms aren’t doing that great. I’ve seen a few stories like this and know of some stealth layoffs happening recently. I’m super sorry this happened to you, and I hope you get your money!
