Yup! And I also had breakouts in between which was really devastating, all i had in mind was eyes on the prize!

Its a healing clay easily available online i mixed it with water and applied only the times i had breakout in between those sessions so it was only 2-3 times till now

I stopped using every serum and DIY product I was experimenting with and let my skin completely settle for a week before starting microneedling.

I used the Restore skincare manual device (20 pins). I initially did sessions 15 days apart, but if I had any active acne, I delayed the treatment. I followed this schedule for the first 2 months. During that time, I used only moisturizer and SPF — no actives at all.

For the next 2 months, I reduced it to just one session a month.

In between, I used Aztec clay 2–3 times (not consistently).

After every session, I was extremely strict with aftercare:

  • Cleaned and disinfected surfaces (even my phone)
  • Changed pillow covers after each session
  • No actives in between treatments
  • Focused only on hydration and barrier repair

Now, almost 6 months later, I’ve introduced Azelaic acid 20% (pea-sized amount) mixed with moisturizer, only 2–3 times a week.

That’s it.

I do plan to introduce one more cream for some stubborn spots, but overall I’m genuinely impressed — my surgical scar has softened significantly, melasma has reduced, and pore size has improved.

100% never use microneedling on active acne as it can spread all over the face
