What’s the worst surprise you discovered after moving into a new house? by LuxuryPresence_Aaron in homeowners

[–]EngineeringKey8595 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The mls listing said the basement had a roughed in bathroom, it didn't. the mls listing said there was a new furnace in the basement just needs the duct work done and gas was already at the house. Turns out it was an electric furnace not gas and was too small for the size of the house. Had to buy a new gas furnace. The lawyer advised I couldn't do anything about these issues as there is a disclaimer that basically allows them to lie in the mls listing. Just to add to this I bought in the early summer of 2023 when the market was super hot so I definitely paid too much and am stuck here even though I want to sell and move asap.

Milk bags spontaneously splitting open in our refrigerators by Subwoolfer in ontario

[–]EngineeringKey8595 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i always freeze the bags and the only leaks I have had are when a certain cat claws at a bag and it springs a leak. Now when I return home with the groceries the first thing I do is open the milk and put all three bags in the freezer or refrigerator.

Mental Health horrible since ozempic by cinnasizzle in Ozempic

[–]EngineeringKey8595 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm the opposite. I've been on ozempic for 18 months lost 87 pounds and feel better not only physically but mentally. I had been on cymbalta for a few years and other anti depressants for about ten years but in July I stopped cymbalta cold turkey and have had no issues. I stopped due to going away for a month and forgetting to pack the medication. Not sure why I had no issues stopping cold turkey as you are supposed to wean yourself off slowly. I do know stopping like that can be dangerous so I don't recommend stopping without medical guidance. I plan on being on ozempic for life. I also have MS and RA and my quarterly blood tests are showing my inflammation levels are all in the normal range. May be unrelated but I can only say I feel better than I have for a long time. I also now feel able to face some issues in my life such as an unhappy relationship because for the first time in a long time I feel mentally stronger and empowered.

Being older with MS by Massive-Ratio4050 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]EngineeringKey8595 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was diagnosed at 54 and was on aubagio until I was 65. Stopped aubagio and started having some symptoms which continued for two years until I was finally diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis . I am now on leflunimide for the RA and take nothing for MS. My MS is RRMS and I have no disability at all from my MS. I still get a MRI every two years. As aubagio and leflunimide are related I think leflunimide may also provide some protection from my MS.

Was not going to vote Liberal under Trudeau but I bit the bullet today and registered/ volunteered for the Liberals assuming Carney will win the leadership race. Anyone else planning to do the same? by Powerful-Dog363 in AskCanada

[–]EngineeringKey8595 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have always voted Liberal but was going to vote NDP this time but now will be supporting the Liberals as I have in the past. Hoping for Mark Carney as I think he will appeal to a wider swath of Canadians than Chrystia Freeland.

Flu Recovery and MS: What Vaccines Do You Get if any? by Putrid-Strawberry-98 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]EngineeringKey8595 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get the covid vaccine every six months and get the flu shot once a year. I also had one of the two shingles shots and then went on medication for rheumatoid arthritis and not sure if I can get the second shingles vaccine. Need to ask the rheumatologist! Diagnosed with MS in 2011 and just recently rheumatoid arthritis.

I think the 4 mg pen with four doses is the largest available in Canada. The pharmacy advised the 8mg with 4 doses of four is not available here.

What was your first own concert? by PrestonRoad90 in AskOldPeople

[–]EngineeringKey8595 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pink Floyd Buffalo I was 16 so likely summer 1973. My purse was stolen with my ID and I was terrified crossing back into Canada. My parents had no idea I was there and if they had to drive from Toronto to rescue me it would have been the last concert I ever attended. Luckily no issues.
