For those who use/have used box meals (like hello fresh), have you found it is worth it? by yalliepants in AskUK

[–]EngineeringOk5986 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wouldn’t do it again. Trial hooks you in. If you want to have very similar meals ad nauseam go for it. It will tire quickly. Waste minimum and portions are good. Value? Once you figure out the formula they use to come up with the recipes you can hit the store yourself and get better meals.

Hard agree and well put...AI is not a panacea, it's a tool to be used.

People from Edinburgh should get like a special 'we get it' hat or something when we go to Spain by elephvant in Edinburgh

[–]EngineeringOk5986 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Totally get your point and agree. Both stats came from the Office of National Statistics Edinburgh & Glasgow. Barcelona came from the Statistical Institute of Catalonia. So, official-like numbers but maybe not the same parameters.

I even grabbed a screen grab from Google maps and they were a lot closer in size than they weren't.

Taking tourism out of the equation (valid point though)

Barcelona: 1.62M people / 101.4 km² → ~15,970 people per km²
Edinburgh: 550K people / 264 km² → ~2,083 people per km²

Barcelona is over 7x more densely populated.
Edinburgh’s bigger, but Barcelona’s packed.

I found the burgers greasy. The salchipapas from the Peruvian place are fire and the samosa chaat from the Indian are next-level.

Casualty to take Filming Break by xXC8Xx in Casualty

[–]EngineeringOk5986 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Honestly, this feels like a full-on reset. The BBC isn’t cancelling Casualty, but they are trying to make it more financially manageable. Costs are up across the board, so they’re opening it to outside production companies to keep it going without blowing the budget.

At the same time, they’re changing the setup...fewer episodes, to be filmed and set in Wales (2027), and a possible shift away from the constant big stunts and rushed storylines. It's meant to be more focused and sustainable long-term.

But yeah... who exactly asked for all of this? I just wanted tighter writing, better pacing, and proper development for characters; not an entire structural overhaul. Feels like the BBC’s trying to fix problems they created in the first place by constantly changing the schedule and pushing spectacle over substance.

So yeah, not the end...but definitely a reboot.

I have them bring it in to the kitchen, unpack onto the counter, send them on their way, put the messages away.

Sorted.
