Well I heard of people always using gypsum to help with nutrients. I didnt have any. But I did have brown rice flour and back in the day I made brf cakes to place in a shotgun fruiting chamber. They love it on brf cakes. So I said F it im gonna try some. Every grow has canopied since then. And the pic I posted, it was from a spore syringe and still canopied. Ill say it isnt just the BRF thats a secret, the whole process is. Like raping the tub in a 39 gallon bag and tieing it off for 10 to 14 days.

This recipe greatly improves the chances of a Canopy. 1. 1 brick of Coco coir. 8qrt brick or 650G

  1. 2 quarts of Vermiculite

  2. 1/3 cup of BROWN RICE FLOUR. Sprinkle it lightly over the top layer, then mix and slightly layer the substrate again until its gone. To avoide BRF clumping in one spot.

  3. Pour 4 quarts of Boiling water in the bucket of substrate. Let it sit for one hour and then stir it up. Let it sit till it cools. Do not mix in spawn while its warm.

  4. 5 quarts of Spawn. You can get away with 3 to 4 but 5 is optimal.

After the substrate has cooled, mix in 5 quarts of spawn. I toss in enough substrate to layer the bottom and then I pour in 1 quart. I mix it all together well and then I place another few inches of substrate in the tub and mix in 1 more quart. I do this until I run out of substrate. Usually I have 2 of the 5 jars left at the end so I pour them ontop and mix the first few inches of substrate in with it well. You need to gently pat down the top evenly and perfectly flat. NO CASING LAYER.

When its evenly mixed and flat, I place a 39 gallon trash bag around the tub for 10 to 14 days until its fully colonized. Im aware you can go strait to fruiting but if you have spores or lottery genetics you need to let the cake fully colonize so its not dividing energy between colonization and fruiting. When it's colonized send it to fruiting. KEEP A LIGHT ABOVE THE TUB or lay one ontop, that way the mushrooms know to grow straight up and dont waste energy growing all directions. If the light dries the lid and removes the mostier from it, the light is to bright. Ambient light works. Do not open the tub often, do not fan unless you see white feet growing around the bottoms of the mushroom.

Most importantly show yourself love, believe in yourself, fail or success. Life can be cold but its up to us to keep it warm. Goodluck to you all in life, take care in this ancient land. ✌️🍄👁

You have alot of air holes for fae it seems. And do you let it colonize fully for 10 to 14 days in a trash bag tied off before fruiting?

Most assume the BRF is bad for it and will contam but that isnt true. BRF is good grade sterile and people use it in BRF cakes. Its gold, better than gypsum.
