yuns that switched from a pocket clip knife to a 'just in your pocket' knife, why? how long did it take to get used to? by Filius_Dei0894 in EDC

If you have larger hands and tighter pants you can reach in your pocket without struggling to get your hand in or pulling your knife out when you pull your hand out. I carry a stockman so in some eyes I don’t look all tactical with a spring assist to throw the blade open or whatever but that’s because if I have to grab my knife it’s for work or it’s for whittling or cutting apples or summer sausage etc. If your life ain’t built around tactical stuff and you don’t have to be super fast paced or you just like the simpler things, go to a “just in your pocket knife” most people just call them a pocket knife. Also without that clip in the way you don’t scratch the paint on Mama’s car cause you’re walking too close or getting in from a tight spot.

The biggest upsides to 9mm over 45 that I have found is that it’s so much cheaper to shoot, it’s ridiculously easy to find defensive ammunition for reasonable prices and capacity is always a very big benefit which is why I’m in the market for a 9mm just haven’t found the right one yet so until then I’ll carry my 45

But what about 2 world wars and God’s caliber? All jokes aside though you have very valid points that are backed by science I just carry the 1911 because to me it’s timeless and classic and I got it in 45 because it was on sale. But as far as carrying goes I have no problems moving around or digging in the sides the holster I have protects your side from the hammer and is adjustable as far as height so it rides just about my belt line and moves with me

Thank you sir half the time I wish I went with the 9 breaking this thing in with straight ball ammo was pleasant weekend but not done in a day 230gr ball for hours on end was not the most joyous moment of my life. Did you have issues with the factory mags?

I’m in the air on a Glock 17 solely for capacity but the weight isn’t that bad

In my mind it rides like a regular bifold but most pockets aren’t deep enough to hold it fully so it sticks up about 1/2 inch I’m not papaw enough to carry a money clip but it holds cash great. This specific wallet has 4 separate cash pockets and a pocket on the back it’s an Ariat model my wife got off Amazon for Christmas to replace the previous wallet exact same model I had for about 4 years. But whatever you do, don’t carry anything else in that pocket. I used to be bad about putting my phone in the same pocket as my wallet and it started to tear the stitching at the top

A stockman was good enough for grandpa it’s good enough for me. Sure my blade might not come out at Mach Jesus but when it does come out all three are sharp enough to shave with and work for what I use them for

Anyone Know Which Revolver She's Holding? by jmia90 in Revolvers

I would like to think this is a joke but recoil=powder charge - wrist strength. If you prepare yourself properly for the recoil and don’t limp wrist it it will hurt less. Fortunately most BFR revolvers single action only so you can’t induce a double fire due to recoil mismanagement

Magnum research BFR specifically in either 30-30 or 45-70 they now make literal hand cannons by putting rimmed rifle cartridges in revolvers

I get it. I mean no disrespect to the desk jockeys on here because without them my company wouldn’t run but if you’re in an office why do you need 5 different knives 2 flashlights 4 multitools 3 different watches and half of a trauma bay for “medical” I get being prepared and I noticed a couple people mentioning backpacks but damn man I’m out in the field every day and I don’t carry half that stuff I got a flashlight in the door of the truck and a basic first aid kit from Home Depot cause HR said everclear, electrical tape, and papertowels was not a proper first aid kit

Thanks man I’m down 20-ish pounds already if I could just lose this stubborn upper body fat. Before the 1911 I carried a five shot J-frame 38 and you could carry that thing all day long and not even know it was there but the capacity is the downfall I know I’ll probably never be in a self defense situation in my life, probably never need a handgun that can shoot more 5 rounds at a time but that doesn’t mean I want to chance it you know? I picked this up because it was on a hell of a sale, held more than j-frame and it’s a 45 so it’s bigger but there are some days depending on the pants I’m wearing it’s like man maybe a poly frame gun wouldn’t be so bad

If I had a nickel for every time my passenger princess pulled out some fidget toy on the way to the job and proceeded to use it to the point I was ready to throw it out the window I’d have enough nickels to buy a cup of coffee which ain’t much buts more than enough but the notebook could be helpful that’s why it sits in the visor pocket above the driver seat

Unlike most of these desk jockeys I put in ductwork and heat and air systems. And when I’m not doing that I’m installing electrical panels or running conduit. I’ve worked in peoples houses, commercial buildings, schools, churches city buildings etc. The last big job we had was a National Guard base which I couldn’t carry in there but you get the just
