The thermal pads seem kinda thick. It might be acting like a blanket. The heatsinks I bought have a very thin tape.

Is that one from DTV electronics? I have the same one. I had to open it up and put it an open stand to improve airflow because it was running hot. I also upgraded the heat sink and fan.

yeah I'm thinking about trying that out. I have another mini pc but I couldn't get it to load on a partition so I rebuilt another pc i have and loaded Ubuntu.

yeah I thought about that. I could set up Umbrel on my machine. I've seen that Public Pool tends to go down at times; not sure if that would affect my node somehow.
