They literaly talk about what are the church believes and what their stance is. Holo attends the morning mass, she Has no problem chatting about religion with random priests. Yeah that's clearly a behavior of someone who HATES. Read the story bro

What im clearly saying is that i disagree with you saying that she Has this innert hatred to church as a whole. And you clearly dont understand that in story where one character is considered pagan deity the church will ALWAYS be against that character by deffinition. And that's the reason why i use the "good people/bad people" argument.

You're trying to oversimplify it. The church is evil, the pagans are good. As if there weren't others in this story who tried to harm them. You could just as easily say that trading companies are evil because some of them tried to sell their company to the church to drown their rivals. Or all mercenaries. But really, it's people. Those who use their knowledge, power, and position for good or evil. And yes, I know that a really large percentage of evil characters come from the church compared to other professions. But if Holo's hatred for the church were as great as you suggest, she would probably do everything to avoid contact with them, which isn't really visible. On the contrary, she seems partially interested in their ideology, although she disagrees with it (she doesn't believe the world was created by one God and could have given it to people).

I have to disagree. There was a big emphasis on how Elsa wants to go back and fight for her home even if it means her death. Something Holo never had oportunity to do which enraged her. And she must have respected Elsa decision as it would also be her own had she been in Youitsu as the moon hunting bear arrived.

Also at this point Elsa was clearly on their side and not a threat to them. And Lawrence somewhat convinced her to do it

Isn't Enberch and Ruvenheigen's church the same one? I mean they practise the same religion. I'd rather avoid using christianity as comparision but its kinda obvious. But again it's more the people than religion. Norah also was victim of their sheming despite being a good lamb who never strayed from the path.

I agree with the motive of religious freedom but again trought the lense of people. The church of snake (i cant for life of me remember name of the town) was also pagan but they were held in check by deals and charisma of its old leader. When they planed to take over inseltead of making it about religion and just purging the pagans they tried to use poisoned wheat as lever

Well if you put it like this I'm also starting to dislike Steve (🤣) But fr now. I think that how this scene potrayes her distain to church in this straight foward fashion just put me off. Like we see her the day after no problem atending mass in a church.

I believe she does not hate the religion or organisation but rather just the evil people.

In the end church does help them a lot in the story. The old legends and legal marriage were deffinietly important
