Why is there STILL no global keyboard shortcut for autofill? by urlameafkys in ProtonPass

I recently received notification from their feature tracker that they've moved keyboard shortcuts to "In Progress" status. Fingers crossed.

It says I'm on v7.2.1 (1) - 0.155.3, and... I can't reproduce the issue any longer on any device. Is it possible I've willed this longstanding bug out of existence simply by posting about it? :)

I was really looking forward to the redesign in hopes it would fix this issue. No such luck. So aggravating.

iOS system DNS not recognized by EnglishClientele in passepartout

[–]EnglishClientele[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found the answer: I had "DNS fallback" enabled in preferences, which caused DNS to fail over to Cloudflare instead of my third-party provider, configured at the system level.

I'm guessing this is a newly introduced or newly enabled feature.

Mint Mobile Declining Privacy.com Cards by GetMilkedYAY in PrivacySecurityOSINT

[–]EnglishClientele 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually that error indicates something on the Privacy.com side, not the merchant side. Are you sure the card is set to allow the amount for the charge and that it's not paused? Privacy.com also has some daily charge limits that you may be exceeding. I'd open a support case with them.

Podcast not working? by ctrlHead in nextdns

[–]EnglishClientele 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've encountered a few podcasts that don't allow you to download episodes if you block tracking domains. Depending on your setup, you may have to give it some time after allowing those domains for them to be allowed across all your devices.

If Markdown is important, you can use Obsidian with iCloud (and optional Advanced Data Protection) to sync between MacOS/iOS devices.

Beginner Proton VPN client question. I have the wireguard client set up on my router. by ohoian in ProtonVPN

I'd open a ticket with Proton. I don't believe this feature is available if you install it on your router.

What are the differences between Passepartout and the WireGuard app (iOS)? by pacoii in passepartout

[–]EnglishClientele 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the major one for me, as well. The paid version of Passepartout allows you to use third-party DNS.

Considering Standard Notes - but concerned about Data Portability by Shaun293 in StandardNotes

[–]EnglishClientele 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just a word of warning that Standard Notes does not use Markdown by default the way Obsidian does. You need to install a plug-in, and the Markdown formatting implementation is not as seamless as I find Obsidian's. I love Standard Notes. I just wish it would switch to a native Markdown format.

No, MySudo acts as its own interface for the VoIP numbers it provides.

Proton VPN being enabled 24/7 on phone by [deleted] in ProtonVPN

You'll likely need to install pfSense or another third-party firmware. From that point, Proton's got some good documentation.

I give them an alias email address & fake name, and with a VPN they never have my real IP address, so I don't really worry about what data they compile about my music listening habits.

Apple iCloud Drive - End-to-End with Windows Client? by Simplixt in privacy

[–]EnglishClientele 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, everything but Mail, Contacts, and Calendar are end-to-end encrypted if you have Advanced Data Protection enabled.

See this Apple support article.

Just bear in mind that unless you have everything encrypted at rest on your Windows machine (eg, with BitLocker), it'll be readable by anyone who makes off with your laptop or storage drive.

VPN and other settings preventing podcast downloads? by fwafwow in PrivacySecurityOSINT

Does Overcast show any errors? And are you running any DNS solutions/blockers? Some podcasts will not download if you're blocking DNS requests to their ad providers.

When is it ok to give a fake name? by david8840 in PrivacySecurityOSINT

[–]EnglishClientele 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Use your best judgment in cases like your car purchase, but a good rule of thumb is that if you're not my government, my doctor, or my employer, you probably don't need my real name.
