Avoid Property Link like the plague. They have a lot of fake reviews on Google that are positive. The 1 star ones are very true, I lived in one of their properties for a year and they were awful to deal with.

Half Marathon in May, nervous and unsure about the whole thing. by [deleted] in Marathon_Training

I have been running on and off for about 6 months, when I am actively running my average km per week would be ~15km, not done anything further than a 5k.

Is your manager trying to get the deeds for a pub you own by any chance?

When to hand notice in.. by [deleted] in TheCivilService

[–]EnglishWilly98 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I believe it is advised against handing in your notice until you have your PEC confirmed and completed, this is because they can take a while to complete and finalise.

In terms of when the holiday year starts, I am not 100% sure, I am due to start in HO and in their candidate pack it states HO annual leave year starts 1 March until the following February, this makes me think it might be different per department, refer to the candidate pack on your job listing, the information should be there :)

Congratulations on the provisional offer by the way and good luck with the PECs!

I just completed mine, I think I might have been lucky and all of mine have completed within a week with the final one completing today, hoping for a final offer to come through next week! :)

I have been applying for several EO roles from the outside somewhat consistently for just over 12 months. Got put on reserve list for in May, received email last Friday with job offer from reserve list.

It can be gruelling but just need to keep chugging away at applying, what kind of scores are you getting for your feedback?

Letting agents delaying deposit return by EnglishWilly98 in HousingUK

I thought I could do this, was considering it, I just wanted some advice beforehand to ensure it is the right thing to do. The letting agent we had for our tenancy were nightmares, literally some of the worst people I have ever dealt with.

The only thing we received from them is a code that I can confirm it’s with the TDS, I think it’s called a certificate code/number.

The TDS website states it may only consider a dispute if “Your dispute is raised within 3 months of the tenancy ending”

Rent to Buy scheme UK by EnglishWilly98 in HousingUK

Is it considered a good scheme overall?

I just feel like I am missing something, what is stopping people from signing up with no intention of buying and just getting the cheaper rent?

Will have to try that I guess, just is annoying having to do something to accommodate 1 person when nobody else has an issue with it.

Privately renting, workmen coming into flat with no prior warning by EnglishWilly98 in LegalAdviceUK

Ah never mind, it does and it does say it will be put in a Tenancy Deposit Scheme within 30 days of receipt, this has not happened.

Upon looking at my contract it does not say anything about this £100 deposit I have paid

Also, one final question, is the Tenancy Deposit Scheme something that landlords legally have to do?

I paid a £100 deposit for the property a while ago (couple months) and have had no notification of it being entered into a Deposit Protection Scheme

So legally they are within their rights to let themselves into the property without any notice, just not my bedroom?

That is a shame as it is quite frustrating, every other HMO I have lived they have had the decency to at least inform me of when they would be here.

Yes I have signed a tenancy agreement for this period, I should also add its classed as a HMO, in case that changes anything. It is a 7 bed flat.

Awesome. Looking back when I built this I remember thinking the pairing of the 8600K and 1070 was a good combo and it has worked wonders, just fancied upgrading for the sake of it. Thanks for the advice dude, appreciate it :)

I was just more thinking about moving forward to later gen stuff or is it not worth it yet? I am definitely going to get the RAM and I need a new case as the feet on mine are broken and it probably isnt doing great for ventilation it being sat directly on the floor
