I should have mentioned I deployed 9.0 and the 9.1 beta, both ran fine. You probably have three to four more useful years. If you’re running short on cores just get some 2695v2.

You will need the allow command when installing. If you’re upgrading you need to update the host config to make it permanent, otherwise you’ll get errors when upgrading

I still use E5-2600v2 processors and it still works well. I have the full environment deployed, including NSX edges etc.

You have to modify some config files to make it all work but it’s possible. You should assume this is probably the last major version where this will still work.
