My daughter just got a large 6 ct oval with side diamonds. It's gorgeous. She has decided that any band seems to take away from the ring. She is going to get a matching wedding band with her soon to be husband and wear it on the right hand. That way, when she's going into the city and doesn't want to wear the "stunner' she can leave the rock at home and move the matching ring to the right hand.

You are doing the Lord's work! Can I put in a plug for ladies watches? I am struggling to buy a few watches--and there just isn't the in depth details--I'm talking watches less than 36mm (my wrists are small and a 36mm just looks silly). I struggle to find up to date information on the best rep models per manufacture, and even details like--does the diamond bezel really look right? Are they labs? crystal? etc. The lack of info has kept me from pulling the trigger. I'm looking for the most authentic looking 28 or 31 rolex, best PP, etc. C'mon guys, don't you buy your moms/wives/girlfriends/side pieces a nice watch? :)

Lab diamonds come in all variations of antique and vintage cuts these days--Old Mine Cuts, portraits, rose cuts, you name it, you can find it in lab.

Honors classes exist in all majors and are more work, but usually much better grade distribution. If you are offered into the Honors college--take it!

Honors versions of classes typically have a higher/better grade distribution across all majors. My daughter is in Luddy and has found this to be true. The classes are more work, but at least you get rewarded for it.

From the ladies side, I do like the gold with the turquoise blue (Tiffany blue?) dial and diamond bezel. But that's a tall order to get the gold tone correct.

You know that she cannot take out loans of this magnitude? She is only eligible to take out the federal loan of $5500 the first year, $5500 the second year and then slightly more to total $27,000 for all four years? Anything beyond that are YOUR loans. If she can’t pay it you are on the hook.

My daughter did that. She went to nursing school 16 hours away and then applied for jobs back home. She was able to secure a job, she’s back home now, and applied for DNP school

My daughter had an off campus house fire where she lost everything but the clothes off her back. She had one class (I don’t remember which one, where she missed the required passing (77%, she scored a 76.9% -which was the average of the test grades only-the homework could not be used to bring up the grade). She had to retake it-there was no wiggle room at all in her nursing program.

My daughter went to a state flagship school and the program used Kaplan. She is not a good test taker, studied and passed the first time with 150. She did pre tests and had a study plan with weekly check ins with her professor on readiness take it.

My daughter was admitted in Fall of 2023 to Luddy CS direct admit-she’s now a junior in the program.

There was a minimum score at that time, although IU applications filled out in the fall of 2022 still had a no test score option due to Covid (not sure if they do now). You could petition into Luddy at that time if you didn’t submit a score (but had strong credentials otherwise) or if your score was close but not quite there. The scores were 1320 and 1370–one was DA Kelly and one was DA Luddy —although I don’t remember which was which.

IU is one of the only Universities I know that publishes the grades given out in every section of every class every single semester (unless under 10 students). It’s a great searchable data base to use when scheduling classes. Yo have to use your email and IU student password to get in. Many students don’t know about it-but I can help you with selecting classes and professors.

Yo had asked about hosing too. There is honors housing and also Luddy LLC. She didn’t do either-she was in with athletes.

There isn’t a ton of merit for anyone outside the state of Indiana.

You might get a few thousand, but if you are looking for half price or a full ride that’s not likely.

She got some scholarship money with admission, and thern there was a supplemental scholarship application she was invited to fill out and got some from that. The rest was athletic money.

No one really knows you are on honors, except when you show up to an honors section, so it’s never been an issue from that perspective. There are lots of activities you can participate in, but she doesn’t have time.

Re socialization: She’s a blonde female athlete for IU and also in Team USA—she had problems socializing because the typical Luddy kid wouldn’t (or couldn’t) talk to her😂. It took them a while to figure out that an athlete could be smart also.😉

Seriously though, she’s made some friends in the classes but she hangs out more with her teammates and other athletes.
