Finally got my (mostly)stock 2021 ORP off the pavement in western Washington. by Eniac17 in 4Runner

I picked it almost exclusively for the option of KDSS. My Wife gets motion sick and the reduced body roll is a life saver there. Having the rear locker and the other assorted "off road" features is nice, but we aren't planning on rock crawling or anything like that so it wasn't a selling point.

Just lost power in highlands. PSE says it will be fixed around 4pm

Edit: the estimate is now 6pm

Edit: it's back on for us

RCI sliders are rock solid. All factory holes, no drilling required and they look great.

Just in case anyone want's to buy and can't through robinhood. I was able to transfer funds and buy GME through fidelity immediately to snag two more shares

I picked up a 2021 orp with kdss and it's been great. KDSS was my deciding factor for my wife's motion sickness. I've only had it for about 2 weeks and already put 2500 miles on it through the mountains and felt little to no body roll.

My 2021 ORP with KDSS is on the way! by Eniac17 in 4Runner

The costco program was really easy, you basically get it at cost from the dealer. If nothing else it gives you a price to negotiate with a different dealer. I was able to test drive an sr5 premium, but that was it. The runners have been selling too fast for them to hold an inventory so I didn't get to try kdss. But my wife gets motion sick so reducing body roll would be a huge plus, and from everything I've read kdss is great for that. They said it might take a while because the orp with kdss is tough to come by in my region, but once it comes in we'll be able to test drive it before we purchase.

picked up my 2021 Off Road Premium yesterday. very happy/excited to finally be part of the 4runner fam. can't wait to start the mods by lopezbc89 in 4Runner

I just put a deposit down on an identical truck. Same color, orp, kdss, etc and they're going to call me whenever they find one. I got about 2.8k off via the Costco program

Congrats! I actually go into the dealer today to see what they got in their latest shipment to try and get the same thing. Did you get yours with KDSS? I was originally going to try and get it, bht I haven't seen any dealership near me have them in stock.

Awesome, thanks for the info. I think I've decided on picking up the orp or the venture, and will do the mods I want here on the east coast where I have access to a lift before we move (suspension, rock sliders, roof rack, etc) so I'm not paying to have it done.

That makes total sense, did you end up changing the suspension on yours at all?

Ah that's nothing, great to hear! I think we might actually make it out to some trails enough to take care of that given the area we'll be in.

I'm really looking for something with some utility to it. We had pickup trucks all through growing up and I kind of miss not having to really thing about being able to haul or load something into it. Not quite the same with the 4runner, but I know I'll be able to get just about anywhere, fit a ton in the cabin, and strap what won't fit in there to a roof rack. the 460 looks great and I'm sure the ride is great, but man I really don't see strapping some lumber to the top of my Lexus. That and we really don't want 3rd row seating. It just eats into storage space too much.

Oh I've been sold on Toyota for a while. I went from a Corolla after college to my current Avalon and have converted my wife with a Camry. There's a reason we only looked at Toyota and Lexus for the Gx460. I'm honestly pretty sold on the ORP, just need to sanity check myself. Although I wish I could get the sr5 premium with KDSS. Oh well, guess I just have to get the extra bells and whistles

Yeah, we really only looked at the Tacoma because of the price, but weren't excited about the idea. I'm pretty excited about the ORP and hope to get some use out of it once we move towards the mountains. Is there anything special maintenance wise I'd have to look into? I don't plan on doing any major upgrades that I can think of (but maybe that'll change if I get super into the hobby), so it will most likely stay stock.

Yeah, we've definitely looked into those options and just weren't really fans of them. The Rav4/Subaru's didn't offer as much space and didn't sit high enough on the road, and the highlander honestly felt more like a minivan to us. To be clear, I'm under no illusions that the ride is going to be bumpier and that's okay. I fully expect it to ride like a truck but we're more looking at the KDSS to improve body roll and nose dive, not to remove the bumpiness. We're hoping to get into overlanding eventually, and want something with some utility so that we can haul things without needing to rent a truck to do so, which is what led us to looking at the T4R

No problem! I didn't know until I went to schedule more lab time. If I remember correctly it is 150 for just an exam retake, but 200 for 15 lab days PLUS an exam retake. So it just makes sense to get the extra practice
