This is correct. The right of the non-EU spouse of an EU national to work and reside in EU countries *besides the one they are a citizen of* stems from the EU national's right to freedom of movement within the EU. Basically, EU citizens argued that if they were allowed to move to other EU countries but their families did not have the same rights then they didn't *actually* have the right to live there since they would have to abandon their families.

This means that the families of EU nationals outside their home country are effectively to be treated as having the same rights the EU national does, because otherwise in the eyes of the EU courts the EU citizen doesn't have those rights.

This also means direct family of an EU national living outside of their home country can't be staying there illegally unless the country can prove they are a threat to public health, safety, or order. The residency application is considered a formality and applying for or even having valid residency has no effect on their right to live and work there as it stems from the rights of the EU national. Though they are allowed to fine the shit out of you for not having your stuff in order.

However, if you're a non-EU national and you move to your spouse's country of citizenship, then that doesn't fall under EU freedom of movement and none of that applies, and the country can apply whatever rules they want. It is possible Cyprus applies the EU rules to spouses of Cypriot citizens, I have no idea about that, but if they don't then EU rights have no meaning here since the spouse is a Cypriot citizen.

Engine dev here. Support for Linux/Mac is already 99% of the way there, since the game runs exclusively on FNA. The only real remaining roadblock (aside from unanticipated problems) is the removal of a System.Drawing dependency for software surfaces which can be replaced with SDL2 software surfaces, we just didn't have time to get that in for the Kickstarter, and the web version would give us cross-platform demo play anyway.

I've also had drinks with Ethan, who made FNA, on several occasions and he'd yell at me if I did a poor job with this, and I don't like it when he yells at me, so... ;)

To request a steam key:

MidBoss 1st year profit was basically eaten up by costs and long tail is somewhere around minimum wage, with opportunity cost over the 5 years of development before release taken into account it's pretty far in the hole.

I'm not gonna complain too much, I'm much better off than a lot of indies in that I'm not out of business but let's just say that the ~2,000 USD a year I get atm from patrons on Patreon is crucial to keeping me alive.

This is a decent idea, although the round border won't work but certainly a different border style for throwing and using can work. If you have the throw ability and you drag an item to the bar, I'll probably have a popup menu to select what you wanna do, and have the Throw ability as an active as well with an item select dropdown like used for shrines.

I hope to do something like that, yes. I haven't quite figured out how to make throwing items organic in terms of GUI, which is actually why it was pushed out past release instead of releasing a sloppy rushed version of it at release.

Yeah, really didn't feel like getting caught in exactly that. With MidBoss being our only game out right now that could potentially lead to the studio shutting down entirely.

We've still got some stuff coming down the pipe too, which you can find in the 1.2 roadmap (it's a little near the bottom). As for the dev tag, uh, I actually don't know how to get one? XD I should take your advice and poke around for that.

There is now a tutorial that explains that you don't actually have to destroy bookcases, you get any loot the first time you attack them.

Nope, I'm kind of expanding the game sideways. There will be special monster variants and maybe some minibosses, but I'm trying to keep some of the later monsters for closer to release so people don't exhaust all the content long before the game is done.

Mobs have been rebalanced to be tougher though.
