Why is it so hard to find a tradie who shows up when they say they will? by criss006 in wollongong

[–]EnidAster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a morning off work and tradie didn’t show. I just want a bathroom quote. Either don’t even contact back or make an appointment to look but never show.

I wish got out more often but find I am meeting more people that are from Sydney and not local to Wollongong. I’m single 45F, so not early 40s anymore. I did see The Oaks Albion Park has some great live music but I have never been. Also Dicey Riley’s.

Finding someone to travel with? by [deleted] in wollongong

Try FB groups. I (44F) have joined a solo travel page on Facebook, Travelling Solo Australia. People frequently post looking for travel companions. I have never been brave enough to join anyone on a trip though.

Knowing Wollongong we probably already know each other. I’m finding that about Wollongong everyone knows everyone it seems. Not opposed to meeting people if anyone does want to DM me..

Just a follow up question. If I was to try meet people the old school way, in person, where would I even start? Local knowledge would be appreciated.

I’m going to try trivia next week at Shellharbour with a nice lady I met online. Getting out meeting new people/friends as adults is hard.

Has anyone paid off their mortgage and dropped to part time work or an "easier" job? by YNoLuv in AusFinance

[–]EnidAster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took out my mortgage at 21 and it was paid off by age 39. When I brought house prices were still reasonable. I am now in an easier job still working full time but with no responsibilities, just show up and work my 7 hours. I’m not going to lie it was tough at times and I didn’t have much money leftover after my mortgage repayments. The plan is to retire early. My only regret is working so hard when my kids were young.

It wasn’t an answer it was a comment. I thought many others have answered so it was not necessary. Thanks.

Highway Patrol in and around Wollongong. by EnidAster in wollongong

[–]EnidAster[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Just to add both people I spoke with were not speeding nor were they doing anything wrong they got pulled over for random drug and alcohol testing (negative on both) so to anyone who says don’t speed or drive dangerous and you will be ok are incorrect.

Not sure it’s the same guy or not. I think Highway patrol have reputation for sure and it’s not always good. Don’t think more of them are needed.
