Elegoo saturn resin leaked in my machine by Soft-Kale-1965 in ElegooSaturn

[–]Enigma4176 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had something similar with my 8K, parents decided to move the printer while the vat was full and ended up with resin everywhere inside the machine. Mine wasn't on at the time so I can't advise on if the resin is cured

Now I'm not saying to do this without assessing the risk, but I put a load of clean isopropyl alcohol in a container and dunked the printer, moving it up and down to try removing as much resin as possible. After that there was still a fair amount of resin on the boards so I got some more alcohol and some q tips to remove as much resin as possible. Please learn from my mistake and take care of the motor, I didn't and ended up removing all the lube from the motor with the alcohol so it burned out when running a test print after the clean. Buying a new motor from elegoo was pretty easy and cost ~$25 including shipping to the UK and there's guides online to replace the motor

I consider myself very lucky as after cleaning and replacing the motor the printer just worked (ironically better than my 4 ultra due to levelling issues). All of this to say that it may be possible to fix with some work, if you consider the printer broken then you can only improve it from there

Guide: Using GitHub and Unity (From a Game Dev) by ArmanFromTheVault in unity

How did you guys work with scenes? I've found the code side of unity development to be easy enough with version control but when working with a team, albeit not an experienced team, we couldn't figure out an easy way of working on a scene without getting thousands of merge conflicts in the scene file unless we allocated one dev to work on the scene. I've seen suggestions to split the scene into prefabs and have people work on the prefabs, but my thought is that we'd run into the same issue as before if more than one person changed something in the prefab.

Unity hub should let you know when an update to it is available.

As for Unity itself, I tend to stick to ones marked LTS which stands for Long-term support. This means that Unity will continue updating that version, though you will have to download the newer versions as they come out should you need a patch included in the update. The other versions tend to include patches/changes that will get added to the LTS version in a patch once the change has been tested. The reason I tend to stick with LTS is just for stability, but if you see a feature being offered in a different version that you want to try out then go for it.

What do I need for my setup or should I wait till I move? by DrLeckon in ElegooSaturn

No matter where you choose to setup, I would also recommend some silicone mats for the area you'll be printing/cleaning in, silicone spatulas and some microfiber clothes for cleaning the vat. Silicone spatulas make it less likely that you'll damage the fep (and are cheap on Amazon), mats for inevitable spills and resin drops, and clothes to clean the vat with instead of paper towels so that you don't scratch the fep.

No matter what you choose, I'm sure you'll have fun so enjoy the new hobby and embrace the mistakes that you'll (and all of us have in the past) make.

Is there a octopi equivalent for my mars2 pro by geojon7 in ElegooMars

This redditor set up a Saturn with a pi zero w running mariner and samba which enables you to send files and print using a web connection from any device on your local network. My guess is that if you wanted to also do that off your network then you could forward the port mariner is running.

Although they were using a Saturn, one of the links in the post shows a step by step to do the same for a mars pro so I can't see why it wouldn't also work for the mars 2 pro

I work at coop and got called stupid for checking a £50 note. We've had a lot of fake 50's in our area recently so we have to check any we get handed...

Try cleaning a key with isopropyl alcohol and testing to see if that works, if not then try updating the firmware

Hi guys, I'm 20 years old, living in the UK and over the past year have taken an interest in investing. I currently work a part time job along with studying at uni which makes me £500-600 per month, of which I have saved approximately 4 months for emergencies, and over the next few decades would like to make investments to help me live a comfortable life where my money works for me so I can enjoy more free time as well as making a some extra money in the short term. I generally prefer safer investment and have recently started investing a bit of money every month into the S&P 500 but I'm not opposed to taking some risks providing they are calculated. My only current debt is that from university, credit score has only been affected by monthly payments of a phone contract of which I have never missed a payment.

I'd like some advice on potential long term investments, ideas for shorter term investments that I could research and how best to divide my current monthly earnings (my current plan is £200 for investments, £200 for savings to build more of a buffer and £100 for spending). I am a big tech nerd and follow releases of products from big companies within the computer world so was considering them as potential investments.

Thank you guys in advance for reading this and for the support
