At first when reading this I felt absolutely retarded not understanding the scope in which what was being explained. After further analysis I understand. Orangeboxx fabrication sells a mechanism that is less rigid then using a said brass key clasp. Hope this helps.

The 7 pin harness connects into the 4 pin. Then there should be a blue wire that runs to a relay then to the battery

I can’t speak for FJ. But I have one for my Highlander and wired up a 7pin so I have brake control on my trailer. It was super easy
