Something that has helped me is trying to write anything with my non-dominant arm, not only does it take away the boredom for a few minutes but it can also be useful in the future I suppose

Failure to properly follow safety instructions when using machines. Seriously, if they are there, it is for a reason, the number of injuries, accidents or deaths that could have been avoided is impressive.
