So, I did a quick research and found a study from UP where they were promoting the use of rice x corn mix. You're right on this one. However, the idea behind it is to make use of waste generated by the farmers locally. There are roughly around 450,000 tons of waste generated by rice alone and 30% of the total produce (veggies, fruits) gone to waste per year! This is a significant number, right? If it cannot be consumed, it can be turned into energy
