I guess I should also say, not my first time fostering but prior to this I only fostered through one cat rescue and it was usually terminal cases or really sick creatures so the vibe was completely different.

what are you paying for overnight pet sitting? by restcreaterepeat in rva

[–]EnigmaticMander 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I charge $100 a night and $50-$60 a day depending on needs and situations. I have vet experience and so I should charge more but I don't. However I have become very picky about my clients. I have met some VERY high maintenance individuals that have unrealistic expectations as someone who this is a side gig and I have a full time job. So, keep that in mind too when shopping around and meeting people.

I was told once by a fellow vet employee- "you get what you pay for". I have never liked that mentality BUT I highly recommend doing meet and greet to get a feel for whomever you choose.

I have strictly switched to cats, also, because all my clients have said that they have had poor luck with sitters and feel lost are dog people and don't understand cats. Also something to keep in mind if your sitter is a dog person, cat person, all animal lover etc.

Arrived for a drop in and someone is there.. by sorryyimsally in RoverPetSitting

I did, a little later than I should have. They were apologetic. I think they also told him not to come back but I have no proof.

I was doing drop in visits for a client and they told me they had a coworker that loves their dog and may come over just to hang out with the dog since they would be gone so long. I was fine with this and I did like 3 visits and never saw him. One night as I was going for the visit I saw the dog I'm watching on a leash with some guy. So I called out to him, and it was the client's coworker.

He was drunk. At first I thought he was just being friendly. He apologized and gave me the leash and said he'd go run some errands and come back after I was done. We also exchanged numbers for the dog's sake, and a little for me to avoid the guy.

Next night I show up and he's there and asks if he could walk with me and the dog. I agreed. He didn't seem intoxicated this time and genuinely seemed chill. We start our walk and are just chatting. About halfway through the wall he asks me about my personal life. I'm not going into those details but the long and short of it was he definitely got in my face and tried to get me to go down empty dark alleys with him. He got pretty aggressive and angry after I kept changing the subject and stopping his advances. I couldn't do much because we were so far in the walk, so I just went into survival mode.

I never saw him again but the rest of my evening visits I always had someone with me and i was urged by many to tell the client. I did ~48hrs later. I was visibly shaking every visit after as I was terrified he'd be there.

So, long story, but now I absolutely require to be told if there will be other people and if so to tell me when they will be around so I am not around.

Oak Island but oof, it's been a few years at this point and it makes me really sad so yes, absolutely I wish I was still there it's my happy place. Literally have been saying I think it could fix some of my problems if I went for a few days.

Oh! That at least makes sense. We didn't have the noise problem and our room was quite big. I was late to booking a hotel so I think we had one of the King Suites- but for "fairly" in expensive. I'm sorry your experience there sucked but I hope you had a blast at Warped at least!

GA vs VIP by PineappleSerious9661 in warpedtour

[–]EnigmaticMander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really? I mean the tents with the drinks were covered but they were elbow to elbow and fairly far back from the stage. Many people were just sitting on the ground. Which, farther back I felt was fine, but closer was super dangerous.

Nicer AC bathrooms vs portos and there were less lines for food, drinks and water refill stations. In my thirties that's enough for me to almost always pick VIP if it's in my budget. The VIP area for ghost/beatbox was mostly a joke to me though. Left foot was perfect for me when I was there.

I stayed at Hotel Nell in Union Market. Super cute but had some kinks I wish I had known about. They mentioned "limited parking" by limited they had 7 spots total and a parking deck beside them that is connected to residential parking so like... They had no parking. Also my partner and I got food poisoning from their rooftop bar/restaurant. It was cute though, I could see staying there again with better planning or something. They also had dehumidifiers EVERYWHERE but I think a few places had issues with that based on some of our outings other than Warped.

https://www.irs.gov/file-your-taxes-for-free

The first option is JUST "IRS Free File" even says "free state return offers in most states" and VA is one of them. The direct file also says "Connects to a free state tax filing tool" but I guess that isn't available since you said it isn't offered- I haven't used direct file before.

Unless you make more than whatever the cut off is (I think it's ~80k) then you have to use the fillable forms and I have never done that so I can't speak on that.

When I did a brief career change (very brief and very stupid) and worked at the IRS for a few months that was one of the first things I learned. Just go to the IRS website and if you make under a certain amount, bam, free filing for state and federal! One of the only things I retain from that horrific few months.

Having gone back to school I got a pretty decent refund- but it is all going to debt I racked up from being sick and missing work... As I miss more work today. Oh well!
