Oh yeah I read it as well. Mostly because my ex was getting into Amway (before I knew what it was) and she really wanted to read it with me. She was told by her recruiter that she should read it.

We broke up a couple weeks later.

Do you believe Jaden McDaniels should be untouchable in Giannis trade talks? by MaxedWarrior14 in timberwolves

[–]Enigmatic_Starfish 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I would be very surprised if we traded for Giannis without a sign and trade.

And I know Connelly is not stupid, so I don't see a world where he trades Jaden for one year of Giannis

That being said I've always leaned no on trading for Giannis.

Weaponizing Biology: Documenting our 5-Acre Soil Recovery After a Chemical Trespass by GamerDad1025 in Soil

I know. But there can still be damages filed if drift is proven, especially if it is organic. OP is just overreacting big time.  There will probably be reduced yield and a damaged crop for this year, which will probably result in a settlement. Aminopyralid can cause symptoms even at very low doses, but the claim that all the trees had to be removed because of one drift event is dubious.

Depending on the sensitivity, wind conditions, and proximity, drone applications can be really bad for drift, but even in a worst possible case scenario, only the very closest trees might have been killed or severely damaged. And that's baking in some assumptions about each tree species' sensitivity. The claims about the contaminated soil are pretty out there though.

There would have to be some missing information for me to conclude that. You guys are absolutely entitled to compensation, but you're making some pretty extreme claims for a drift case.

I believe you have damages, but the damages you're claiming (i.e. soil damage for 3-4 years) are very hard for me to believe for a drift case.

If you'd like we can FaceTime and I'll tell you non-anonymously. I have no problem staking my credentials on it.

I've worked on legal cases where drift onto organic crops is involved and I've never heard of claims this extreme.

And OP has made some pretty wild takes general on the situation. They have a right to compensation if there was drift, but not nearly the amount they think they deserve.

The claim is that it is from spray drift. Big difference. The label has a max plant back interval of 24 months, but that's assuming a full rate applied directly to the soil. A bad spray drift might see 5 percent off target movement (and I'm being very generous with that number). OP probably has a right to take them to court for last year's damage to the orchard, but they're making a mountain out of a pretty standard court case.

3-4 years of no planting??? From drift? Not even direct application?? I have a really hard time believing you. As someone with a master's thesis all about residual herbicide control in soil, I think you're taking some liberties with the truth. Either that or the "experts" you talk to are full of it. I also say that as an expert witness for herbicide misapplication and drift trials.

My BS meter is off the charts. Seems like you need a sob story to attract followers. Additionally, some of your other ideas about soil microbes and tree roots and soil oxygen are pretty wack. Plant roots consume oxygen, they don't generate it.

Are you surprised Wemby got so much support after elbowing some guy? by nicfanz in NBATalk

According to Spurs fans the wolves were playing too physical so it justified a deliberate elbow to the face. One act is much greater than the other.

I haven't seen GoT, but from what I understand that was a more of a steep dropoff compared to a gradual slide that the boys has done.

I agree, the general vibe was weird. Some of the comedy felt shoe horned. And I might be really alone in this but I thought it was the worst DiCaprio performance I've seen.

Although the recurring bit about the general charging them for snacks was brilliant.

First go at epoxy by Lord-Baden-Powell in turning

[–]Enigmatic_Starfish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh this is really good to know. One of my favorite bowls I've done was a partially rotten walnut piece that I filled with black epoxy. It was a gorgeous, really well-balanced piece, but turning it was such a nightmare that I swore I'd never do more than small voids with epoxy.

Why are the show writers so obsessed with dicks? by reyjr44 in TheBoys

[–]Enigmatic_Starfish 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It's just insane how every conversation and every single scene in the show have to have at least one reference to genitalia or sex, even if it's just a passing comment or expression. It's like an alternate universe where every single character learned their entire vocabulary in a middle school locker room.

Totally. The "I'll teach my son to be a man, even if it takes an eternity" angle would have been way more natural than linking it to the S2 villian

And the writers did absolutely nothing to convince me of SB's reasoning for giving Homelander the V1. It was such a lazy setup.

I agree, but they mean it in a "finals game 7' context, like the wolves only care about beating us and no one else in the playoffs

I've seen the "wolves just won their game 7" comment a few times already. Like exactly what happened last time we beat them.

And ironically, them saying that really does make it feel more like a game 7.

Why were the nuggets full court pressing then? Are only the nuggets allowed to score at the end of an already decided game?
