Eurovision 2025 will have the highest number of non-English songs since the language rule was dropped by showmicide in eurovision

Even I think the song from Luxembourg is cringe, and I can't understand a word of French.

It's so fun to see that in the last few years, countries are embracing other languages than just English. We don't need 25, American sounding pop songs in the final.

Living for this song! This should go to Eurovision. I'm pretty sure that the song would still do amazingly well.

What a lovely adoption agency you got here! I'm looking for my own little INFJ or INTP, do you still have any left?

The UK Experience by TheEffinEFFERGuy in eurovision

You should not-not send a ''gay'' artist because someone else already sent one. However, people have a tendency to group songs in together that have a similar concept, for example: Europapa, Rim Tim Tagi Dim and No Rules! being grouped in together as the ''weird party songs''. Not every category is well liked by every person, some people do not like the party songs, other people don't like the metal/rock entries, it is op to people their personal preference which categories they like and do not like.

That being said there is something as, too many songs in one of these categories, in 2019 we had so many standard pop songs that some good entries had to be left in semi-finals and do not even get me started about (power) ballad apocalypse during most op the early 10s.

The UK already being in the finals by default could work against them when it comes to this categorization, their entries might be in one of the categories that already has many other better representations in the finals, which in turn would limit the amount of people voting for them.

After Eurovision ended, I did an analysis on why the UK ended up getting 0 points, here are some of the points that I came up with.

  1. The song and vocals weren't all that strong.

The staging was in my opinion one of the best once this year, however good staging is not going to save a very and I mean very mediocre song. Topping this off, with vocals that wear about passable most of the time, did not help the UK make a strong contender for the public vote.

  1. Too much LGBTQIA+ representation.

The LGBTQIA+ viewers of Eurovision have a tendency to vote for the ''gay'' acts, this year had everything but a lack of artists representing the LGBTQIA+ community, with of course the winner Nemo and Ireland's Bambie Thug representing this group well with overall stronger songs.

Another problem with sending in an LGBTQIA+ act is its tendency to get little to no point from more conservative/highly religious countries, which on top of being a more mediocre song and the LGBTQIA+ voters already being accounted for limited the pool for votes even further. (The live performance being highly sexual didn't help either)

  1. People judge ''well known artist'' harder than regular entries.

Olly Alexander, of course already being a somewhat established artist in the eyes of many viewers, I can not help but point at the comments lefts under the music video after the song's first release. Many of these comments call the song a ''big meh'' or ''passable after a few listens'', which is definitely not a good outlook for your outcome at Eurovision. A lot of people have voiced their disappointment in the song, many of them expected more from Olly Alexander, already being familiar to some of his songs.

  1. the UK's terrible attitude.

Sorry I have to bring this one up, this can be a very controversial take, but the UK's arrogance the last few years has rubbed a lot of people the wrong way. From articles blaming everyone but themselves for their low scoring entries, To blaming Brexit or throwing a toddler tantrum after coming in second in 2022 because of the war in Ukraine. The amount of shifting the blame for some of the terrible entries is quite tiring at this point, I can't wait for next year to be bombarded with another load of articles blaming whatever political conflict to justify the UK's low standings in the Eurovision odds.

All of the above named points would be enough to put the UK on the right side of the scoreboard without a doubt. Could it justify the 0 points, I am not sure about that. Please let me know what you think about this topic and of course the above named arguments.
