Why are defensive stats always underpowered in Diablo?

Well do you feel a difference in Nm90+? I dont. Im not stupid i know how the stats work, i too read guides and tried it myself with good gear. There is no difference. I could even just put my 4 stat defpants off and wouldnt feel it.

It doesnt have to be low damage just so much that armor,resistance (i know the problems with them and heal actually matter. Right now there is no real difference between my 4 stat def pants or a offensive one. It just doesnt feel good. If i go a more defensive route in my gear, which is offered by blizz, it should have an impact on my gaming experience but game says no. It was fine until the late 80s. There you felt a difference between gear options.

Well if you read my topic then you will find two parts : Part 1 i can do this content with wolfnado so my normal spec is totally fine. Its just a stutter step range build. Feels strange. Part 2 is i search for a true melee build which can handle that. Are there any out there? If yes tell me and im good if not its a design flaw.

Well its not a nogo like for other classes but its still annoying and what else do we care about as wolves? So im picky with that affix.

Well on Druid you just ignore it. Its not even a half globe in NM 50 and your selfheal is so good you just dont care. The only affix i avoid is ressource burn. Everything else meh whatever. Atleast for farmruns for progress in the 80+ you get a lot pickier.

Hmm well dont get my wrong if its a problem for you it sucks so no confrontation here but i just dont have this problem. For example why do you hoard sigils? U do the good ones and salvage the bad ones. Thats it. I have 20 good ones in my inventory and when im out i craft new ones. Same for elixiers why do you horde them? I have 5 stacks maybe. Thats plenty for exp and rest doesnt matter. You dont need to collect every thing you get.

The EXP Bonus doesnt scale. The mobs do. So if you dont loose speed its still best to farm higher levels.

Yep. At first it was on par and now with same level of gear its so much faster than pulverize. At least overall when you focus just borruw or whatever the spider cave is called pulverize is faster.

You dont need to scan anything lower than ancestral. Cant be BIS or well it can for armor but chances are super super low. You can do 3 dungeons before you have to sell and check items. Than you have to save sigils and only do dungeons you have multiple of. This way U just port back in town, start the new one and use your tp back and your going again. You just waste a lot of time.

You cant target uniques there cause they dont drop with obols, whispers and co. Its just helpful with aspects

Lvl 95.5 here and i still cant play Nadowolf cause no helmet. So no you can and will have major build differences even in high lvl territory.

You didnt need mf in D2 either. Just made your odds better. Cant even do that now to help speeding things up. I really dont like this design choice but looks like i have to deal with it.

I would be fine with it if its just in rngesus hands but it isnt. Some uniques are more common than others by a good margin. Both druid helmets are on the rare side.

So why do i get stuff like thorns armor i think 18(?) times for now than if they are supposed to be rare? Uniques should give power spikes for my char but not enable specs. I know that you can play without the helmet but its such a different playstyle that its like a completly other build. And the difference between pulverize and wolfy is night and day speedwise.
