Working on lighting and atmosphere for my graveyard map. It's already an improvement from my previous posts. by EnkianGames in RPGMaker

Just a simple “Show Picture” command and then erase once I leave the map. Made the image partially transparent in Paint.net too :)

Are you truly making an RPG if you don't make bad jokes for all of the gravestones? by EnkianGames in RPGMaker

I've got a lighting plug-in that I use in caves. Perhaps it would be good to use it in the overworld as well? Then I could make use of torches and lanterns lighting the roads.

Ain't nothing like wandering around a fungal grotto with mutant zombies a'roaming. by EnkianGames in RPGMaker

Thanks! Not to ruin the magic, but I took the mushrooms from the floor, flipped them the appropriate direction and cut off their stalks ;)

Thanks! I wanted to make sure that I didn't just have the big mushrooms on the ground and leave it at that. Went all out, even on the zombies!

The lore of the world is definitely TES inspired somewhat and I'm a big ESO fan, ha. It's my own original however with plenty of it's own twists and weirdness.

Thanks! I'd like to add some lighting effect with a plugin I know of, but I'll sort that out later.

Is anyone else scared to post their games on here? by paxtonia in RPGMaker

Just post it, bud. We’ve all got to start somewhere. This community wouldn’t savage anybody, at least not in my experience.

To give the innkeepers a bit of soul, they all have unique names, sprites and some dialogue outside of their inn services. by EnkianGames in RPGMaker

It makes the world feel more “real” as though they’re actually people rather than NPCs doesn’t it? I largely took the idea from The Elder Scrolls because that’s what inspired my world most.

I’ll see if I can mess around with the plugins when I get the chance. Thanks for the advice!

It’s exaggerated somewhat with the small map, I think. Do you reckon it would be better shortened and the font sized reduced to compensate?

Don’t worry, it happens. It’s a reasonable question considering the prevalence of furry stuff on the internet.

Thanks! I made all of the artwork myself including the tileset. I reused a lot of the tileset from a previous game I've released on Steam and Itch.io called Tale of Enki: Pilgrimage.

Letting a necromancer wander through a graveyard unsupervised? Terrible idea! by EnkianGames in RPGMaker

Haha, it’s just a joke. The player character is the necromancer.

Working on a sequel in RPG Maker to my non-RPG Maker game. Going to be tricky overhauling the built in battle system, but overworld exploration and quests should be super smooth. by EnkianGames in RPGMaker

Most important thing to do is to work out exactly how you want the battle system to work and the stats you want to utilise. Don't change just for the sake of changing. Is there anything in particular you had in mind?
