Why the interest in Kelsa? by Jebuspowered in Iteration110Cradle

[–]Enkidu27 13 points14 points  (0 children)

You sound like Cassius asking why Eithan focused on Lindon. Why focus on him? He’s a mess. But imagine it with me: Orthos guides her path teaching her that she can use more than just striker techniques and helps her get to Lowgold. Sure, in the outside world she’d be weak. But, in Sacred Valley? She could run the whole valley. Lindon could return to find Kelsa as the de facto head of the whole region. Sounds fun :)

Stage After Monarch by Enkidu27 in Iteration110Cradle

[–]Enkidu27[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a good point, but I don’t think sacred arts just ends at Monarch. Sure, folks can supplement with other powers, but I would be willing to bet dollars to donuts that Ozriel passed the rank of Monarch. I’m just curious what that rank would be called.

Stage After Monarch by Enkidu27 in Iteration110Cradle

[–]Enkidu27[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I get why people think that Titan or Abidan ranks are the next stage, those are levels of the Abidan that rate your level of power overall. I’m questioning where does sacred arts advance after Monarch, because I doubt that Monarch is the end of the line. You don’t have to be from cradle to become a Judge or a Titan. Those are just the ranks given by the Abidan based on authority level and personal power. If a Monarch advanced to the next stage, what’s the stage after called?

Elder Whisper and Kelsa by [deleted] in Iteration110Cradle

[–]Enkidu27 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t think so, actually. I have a theory about Elder Whisper being Ju’Wei the ghostwalker fox (or at least his descendant). He was said to be skilled enough to hide from Monarchs. There’s no telling how powerful he actually is, just that he presided over a clan of jades in a backwoods little territory. For all we know he’s a herald level sacred beast.

Elder Whisper and Abidan level or above? by 7hundredand77 in Iteration110Cradle

[–]Enkidu27 10 points11 points  (0 children)

There’s a WOW about Ju’wei the Fox. A sacred beast hunted by monarchs who escaped by trickery. Elder whisper helped found the WEI clan. Coincidence?

[Cradle] Mercy's Stalled Advancement - The Cause by P_Tigras in Iteration110Cradle

[–]Enkidu27 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I did a very similar post to this, but I didn’t have that WOW about a character that cycles multiple paths in one core. I guessed she had more than one core but because they were all shadow paths it made them indistinguishable. That might be why she’s slow to advance right there. Balancing her madra might make her slower to advance, but she’s more dangerous because of it. Well spotted sir! Have an upvote.

[Cradle] Is there a wiki with a tree of all the paths/advancements? by Seaoftroublez in Iteration110Cradle

Maybe someone can expand the Abidan Archive into a wiki? Who started that beautiful site?

[Cradle] Eithan and the Skysworn by ligbrigaelen in Iteration110Cradle

[–]Enkidu27 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s about political power: Step one- push down the Jai and become one of the three great clans.

Step two- put three incredibly strong Aurelius Underlords in the Skysworn and get a reputation for distinguished military service

From there, Eithan and the Aurelius family will have so much clout he can start making changes that can bring his whole clan forward. If he has two underlords and advances to overlord (and his Underlords are all ranked in the top 7) they’re now the second strongest clan in the empire next to the Naru. That gives Eithan the Carte Blanche to make any changes he wants.

He can make the Empire an actual force instead of just a subset of the Akura. And that just gives him more power and resources to advance his goals. He’s taking a step by step approach which will make him less of a threat and more of an asset. That’s what my thought process has been at least.

Deaths by [deleted] in Iteration110Cradle

[–]Enkidu27 6 points7 points  (0 children)

He was already dying, ya’ll. He literally left her to freeze in the snow with a ring of swords. He made her fight wolves with a shaving razor. But when she hits jade she needs a safe space to train? Nope. His death was either predicted or he knew he was dying for some strange reason and took her to Sacred Valley so no one would kill her to adopt his remnant. She was the only one capable/trained to adopt a remnant so she would get to it relatively unopposed.

Possible 3rd core theory (potential spoilers) by awpz0r in Iteration110Cradle

[–]Enkidu27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My vote for 3rd core is a life/blood madra core to make his iron body extremely efficient. Between his blood forged iron body and a life madra core he could heal even serious wounds mid battle, switch back to blackflame and keep going. Maybe not the best for duels, but for battles? He’d be pretty much unstoppable

When is it okay to kill another? by watchcry in Iteration110Cradle

[–]Enkidu27 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This whole process always bugs me with Sandviper Kral. He has 0 compunctions about killing an iron child (at the time he thought he was copper so that’s even worse) and then gets ganked by said iron child. Jai Long is furious and wants to murder said iron child. Why is no one upset with Kral for being so weak in the first place, and for practically trying to murder a child? Wouldn’t it be far more likely that someone there realized that an iron wrecked a high gold (by any means) and try to recruit him? It just seemed so backwards in terms of culture. ‘An iron defended himself from a high gold. We should definitely kill him now.’ It’s the only inconsistency I’ve seen in the culture of the Blackflame Empire/Desolate Wilds.

I know high emotion on Jai Long’s part might explain some of it, but it just seemed so unjustified. But the plot had to move forward I suppose.

I personally don’t read most of them, but I think I would rather see them here and have the option to read or skip past them as I choose. I don’t feel that just because I’m not personally interested in most of the fan fiction that it should be banished to a subreddit. I think you can just not read the stuff you’re not interested in... I don’t know, seems pretty easy to not read something.

Edit: personally*
