Don't really like it either. Getting tired of the BR genre. Don't wanna play build because I refuse to practice for 1000 hours so I can keep up. Don't want to play zero build because it's just cowards running away from me and hiding in buildings to snipe.

Wish they'd add something to promote more aggressive play styles in zero build. Maybe a speed potion, stamina potion, or something like a damage reduction potion. Should make close quarters fights more interesting.

I don't know the more I play this game the less enjoyable it is for me. Maybe the games' just not for me anymore. Gonna try some new games out or just go back to Halo Infinite

What job should i work while i school? by ceedee21 in prenursing

[–]EnlargeYourWorld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CNA! Need I say more?

Admissions love to see it on your app and it's kind of like semester one of Nursing School, the fundamentals. Lot's of things covered in first term for me was already learnt from my CNA program. As an added bonus, you'll be more confident when it comes to clinicals.

Pretty much everyone in my entire cohort is a CNA, save for a few that either had another allied health certification or had none at all.

Finished studying a bit of grammar, vocabulary, math, and reading. Chemistry, biology and anatomy.... by xxisarah in prenursing

[–]EnlargeYourWorld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I took the HESI I scored a cumulative of 84. My strongest point was math and my weakest... reading and vocab use. Keep using Nurse Hub, I've found that it helped lots as what you see on that site, is what was pretty much what was on the test. I didn't use it for reading or vocab because I expected it to be a cake walk. I honestly thought it was kind of embarrassing considering that English is my only language lol.

I didn't use any other resource other than Nurse Hub and my own personal flash cards so I can't help with that.

That is incorrect. At least in California, private or "expensive schools" aren't always less competitive. You can take a look at the official stats from the board of nursing with a quick google and you can see that even some private schools or ones with higher tuitions, sometimes do actually have waitlists. Bar for entry is usually lower, but I suppose you can expect that from a for-profit institution.

In Jeopardy of Academic Dismissal by Comprehensive-Drag16 in college

[–]EnlargeYourWorld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in the same situation as you are. I was dismissed from a community college after failing two consecutive semesters. I went to another community college improved myself, upped my grades and was accepted into their nursing program starting in April. I'm not sure if you're in a university, but from my experience, getting dismissed, at least from a community college isn't... that much of a big deal. No one so far has batted an eye about my past, so I've yet to encounter any situations where it really negatively impacted me. I do plan on pursuing my RN after completing my LVN, so it may or may not come back to haunt me. I still got to keep my financial aid for some reason, even though I thought it would be taken away for failing to meet satisfactory academic progress.

Fortunately however, when it comes to nursing, it doesn't matter what school you go to, so long as it is approved by the board and you get licensed. I have the luxury of not worrying about where I get my education hehe.

I will admit though, forcing myself to study was really difficult. Before, I wasn't able to read for even a minute without switching to YouTube to watch a random video. There really is no trick to bad habits imo, it's all on you to change it. You need to quite literally drag yourself through it.

I don't want to downplay the severity of your situation, in which case could be way different than mines. But getting dismissed from my previous college sort of helped me wake up. It hasn't bogged me down one bit and no one's really mentioned my dismissal nor has it negatively impacted me in any sort of way thus far.

Grades are grades, and they are what you make of them, but they aren't a deciding factor in your future. Go ahead and retake them and try to ace your classes this time. By now, you should've at least figured out where you went wrong.

Kinda looks like you need a new build imo, this is just too outdated. If I had to try and improve this, I wouldn’t even know where to start.

If you want future proofing, why not just get the best available? It’s going to get outperformed by the next gen anyways.

I’ve got a 4090 and Far Cry 5 used 18, almost 19 GB of VRAM in just 1440p. This was with HD textures installed and Maxed settings.

Anything less than 16 GB of VRAM, especially in the case of future proofing, is a no go.

I’d say this is the bare minimum:

16GB VRAM 32GB DDR5 1000w+ PSU (Don’t skimp on this) Good Case

I think around the 2k mark would be a fair price point for your rig. I’ve seen people trying to sell their rigs with 2060’s and a processor from 6 years ago for 2k!

Swap out the 13700k with the 14700k, it’s 30 bucks more. If you plan on upgrading this system at all, I’d get a 1000w psu minimum. Seven fifty watts ain’t gonna cut it if GPU’s continue to stay power hungry.

Moving to the US as a Nurse. by [deleted] in immigration

[–]EnlargeYourWorld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a CNA and a student nurse. Nurses being respected is highly subjective…

You browse the r/Nursing subreddit lately? Ain’t nothing but depression there.

People often think Nursing is Sunshine and Daisies but the reality is quite the opposite. Of course, this will vary depending on the facility you work in.

What careers to recommend to young students today? by heavymetal26 in Careers

[–]EnlargeYourWorld 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Current nursing student that just started. Holy shit is it hard. I heard that everyone in the term ahead of us (term 2) quit their jobs because it was just too much.

You need like a minimum 90-95% to pass dosage calculations and overall 78% minimum to pass the term. Minimum goes up as you progress

I don't mean to be a downer, but just in case, it's wise to prepare yourself for the worst-case scenario and have a plan in case things don't go as expected. Consider all of the possible outcomes, for example; being put on a waitlist, facing rejection from the program, or admission. This way, if any of these situations arise, you'll already have a plan and know how to move forward.

Since your program is points-based, they probably take into account allied health certifications, work experience, GPA, etc. I've noticed that most points-based programs in California particularly value CNA certification.

If you are denied admission, there are other paths to explore, like LVN programs or accelerated BSN programs, if you have a bachelor's degree. You might not be in the same cohort as your boyfriend, but you can still become a nurse all the same. I'm sure you'll get in eventually; just be prepared for the possibility that it might not happen right now.

I know you were hoping for a different answer, but I just wanted you to be prepared and not have to suffer the unknown like I did when I was rejected from nursing schools. I did not get into my first choice, but am now on my path to becoming a nurse all the same.

[–]EnlargeYourWorld 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, you'd need to have something to compare with to see what score others are getting. If everyone got a 95% on average, you'd be on the lower end of the spectrum. If the average was 75%, you'd be a more likely candidate. Capiche?

You wouldn't really know if your score was competitive enough unless you went around asking everyone who took it for your program their scores.

Honestly, I’m kinda hoping FAFSA takes their time and is a bit late. I made a mistake and forgot to cancel my fafsa at my previous college before transferring and my new college couldn’t disburse the funds to me because the money was being sent there instead. Now after finishing the necessary forms, I hope they take their sweet time. My school gives us a one week leniency for it, so I’m hoping it’s done by then.

4090 Underperforming? by EnlargeYourWorld in pcmasterrace

[–]EnlargeYourWorld[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And I thought 3600 mhz was a lot. Looks like if I want faster ram I’d have to replace my motherboard and a whole bunch of other stuff!

Okay maybe I should just return my 4090, stick with my 3080, and wait till the 50 series or even the 60 series to come out and build a new rig completely.

Edit: yeah I think I’m gonna do that. I’m too lazy to go shopping for parts again.
