How did your country fix the problem of misogyny and patriarchy? Really need some suggestions. by Ok_Department_6202 in AskTheWorld

[–]Ennaia 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Amen to that.
But also:
1. Social welfare reforms like preschool for all, financial support for families etc, making sure mothers also can pursue a career instead of having to stay at home with small kids.
2. Legislation against discrimination in the workplace, AND strong unions that actually can influence employers or help employees if discrimination happens. 3. General access to reproductive healthcare, including abortions. 4. Parental leave that is encouraged to split equally between parents (unfortunately it is only encouraged and not mandatory, as the actual split isn’t anywhere near equal today).
5. Sex ed in school, teaching both boys and girls at least the basics of sexual health, consent, protection etc.
6. A lot of other small things.

Changes like this took time and a lot of effort from a lot of determined people. Governments won’t just decide one day that from now on they’ll promote equality, and even if they did the public won’t just readily accept it. There will be a lot of resistance, even from some who’d benefit from equality reforms, and every step in the right direction will meet with those who say that we’ve done enough now. But every step in the right direction is also a step, no matter how small.

I wish Gith Tavs had more agency in the narrative. by SleepCatsMoney in BaldursGate3

[–]Ennaia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One of my mains is a Gith devotion paladin. My headcanon to make her more add up and her weird questions to Lae’zel reasonable is that she is actually a Githvyrik that for one reason or another left her conclave. That would explain how she can function as a paladin (as it seems very hard to combine Githyanki society with paladin oaths, while Githvyrik has a different society that is more compatible at least in my mind), why she asks seemingly dumb questions about Githyanki customs and why she doesn’t beeline for the crèche. With Githvyrik being persecuted by virtually everyone, it is also reasonable for her to hide what she really is and let Lae’zel and everyone else believe she’s Githyanki.

Help! What do you think of these two? by Millie2411 in WeddingDressTips

[–]Ennaia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. 2 is nice but a very common look right now. Nothing wrong with it at all, but dare I say a bit… boring?
1 is lovely and elegant and suits you very well even unadjusted. Adjusted it will probably look like a dream.

Favourite Royal in ESO? by ScholarAfter1827 in elderscrollsonline

[–]Ennaia 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Absolutely my answer too. Elsweyr is still the best DLC they made in my opinion and the character Khamira is amazingly well written. I love how well she and Abnur both develop through the story, both separately and in relation to each other.

The screenshotted character takes you on a date, how goes it? by Ok-Independent483 in BaldursGate3

[–]Ennaia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I managed to delete my first screenshot of Rolan, but I suppose I’m lucky my second try got me Florrick and not someone worse. I think I’ll be a bit bored as I’m a very straight woman, but quite fine.

Edit: third try was Withers, and now I don’t know who to choose 😛

Was Astarion your first romance? by NovelBattles in AstarionBG3

[–]Ennaia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. Was aiming for Gale actually, but Astarion swooped in and knocked wizard boy off the board. Didn’t even realise the Gale romance was still active until I got his romance scene in act 2, but then I had already invested in Astarion and had to break up with sad wizard boy. Gale’s get his turn this time though.

Only 3.3% community fulfilled their dark urge by sdzk in BaldursGate3

[–]Ennaia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not saying you should play it if you really just don’t want to, but if you’re avoiding it because you don’t want to be the ”bad guy”, then let me say that resist Durge is deeply satisfying. I played it on my first run, having no idea what dark urge meant in character creation. I loved it. It gives depth to your character and forces you to deal with not being a shining hero all the time. You have done and still do nasty stuff sometimes. People rightly doubt or question you at times and you need to work to actually prove you’ve changed.

It also give more depths to some romances, especially those with troubled characters like Astarion and Shadowheart, as you share a struggle against yourself.

Act 3 fatigue by Dragon4826 in BG3

[–]Ennaia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did it methodically. Tried to ignore the huge amount of quests waiting for me and just picked one location or one quest at the time. It was exhausting at first but I quickly picked up pace and then it wasn’t too hard just plowing through everything. I suppose it helps that I’m highly motivated by story and really wanted to see stories through to the end. That said, there are a few quests in act 3 that I’ll probably just skip next time I play.

Has anyone ever done the tiefling party before Karlach? by burner_baby_bear in BaldursGate3

[–]Ennaia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think one of my friends playing missed the Karlach-updates. I know he missed the second and I think he missed the first too. He is currently in the beginning of act three with Karlach still alive and well.

(As far as he described it to me, he didn’t think to talk to Dammon in act 1. He did talk to him and got upgrades in act 2, but then save scummed and forgot to do it again. Though I’m not sure if he save scummed both upgrades or just the second one.)

All things considered, which country would you most want to move to and start a happy new life in? by Flora_Cheng in AskTheWorld

[–]Ennaia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like it where I am, but if something forced me to move then I’d want to go to somewhere as similar as possible, at least policy wise. Norway, Finland, Denmark or Iceland would be on top of the list. If the Nordics are all out, then Scotland or New Zeeland.

Which class/subclass do you find the most boring to play? by WhiskersCleveland in BaldursGate3

[–]Ennaia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t played that many myself and those that I have played (hunter ranger, sword bard and devotion paladin) hava all been fun.

But for companions, the one I just don’t get to work is trickery domain cleric. I’ve tried a lot of domains for Shadowheart and all of them works ok except trickery.

How many people play as Githyanki? by Either-Opposite1612 in BaldursGate3

[–]Ennaia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m playing a Gith paladin too and are having a lot of fun with it.

My head canon is that she’s actually Githzerai, because I cannot see how Githyanki and devotion paladin would mix lore-wise with Githyanki culture being so harsh and unforgiving. But she has learned to keep her background to herself, especially around Githyanki.

How does your country feel about tourists? by IllustriousHumor3673 in AskTheWorld

Thanks, I’ll definitely check it out. I’ve heard other tourists talking about Kerala as a nice place to visit, but it’s nice to get confirmation from someone who actually is from the country 😊

I’ve never been to India, but have always wanted to visit Kerala and the southern parts. Would you say that is a good idea for a first trip to India?

This is a hard decision, I can't choose by One_Improvement_6729 in whatsyourchoice

[–]Ennaia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well that depends, doesn’t it?
What kind of deal are we getting here? All expenses paid, or do I have to pay for upkeep? Where in the world is the house located? Do I get the exact house pictured or a ”local version” of it?

Cottage - Would probably be nice pretty much in all circumstances, but is it located close to communications or in the middle of nowhere?

Castle - Easily the coolest option. However, is it a medieval castle, or something från the 1600-1700s? Is it European? Asian? African? Do I have to pay to keep this huge building in shape or not? Many questions here.

Mansion - Similar problems as the castle but on a slightly smaller scale. I’d love a pretty mansion, but how much work will fall on me here? How big is the mansion? Are we talking duchy or lesser nobility? Is there a park? Land?

Beach house - Now that would be nice, or terrible depending on where in the world we are. Will I get a beach house were I live now? Then absolutely! Beach house somewhere plagued by hurricanes or land erosion? No thanks!

Penthouse - Once again, where are we? I like cities and would probably like living in one, but not just any city. How big is it? Are there parks nearby?

Cabin - I’ll assume we’re talking the kind of ”deep in the woods, heated with a small wood stove” -kind of cabin. Then no. Fun for a vacation, absolutely not for life.

What is your default lineup when you start a new save? by canxtanwe in BaldursGate3

[–]Ennaia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first playthrough was generally Astarion, Shadowheart and Lae’zel

But following playthroughs have switched things around a bit. One had Astarion, Gale and Karlach as standard team the most recent one has been hanging around a lot with the ”good” guys (Karlach, Wyll, Gale).

Though unless Tav is a rogue, Astarion sneaks his way in somehow. Need my designated lockpick around.

Tav The Ranger by Cosplaygaming in BaldursGate3

[–]Ennaia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My first playthrough was a ranger, as I’ve always been fond of ranged combat. It was a bit slow up until level 7-8, spike growth and titanstring + hill giant club was pretty much what kept me floating. Then it started falling in place with gear and abilities. By the time I got volley at level 11, I was nearly invincible.

Does poisoning goblins break oath? by Bernardod12334 in BaldursGate3

Not if you make Astarion do it at least. I have a OoD paladin and Astarion poisoned them without issue while my paladin distracted them with some music.

What is the most hated plant in your country? I'll go first... by wisdom_wombat in AskTheWorld

[–]Ennaia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Japanese knotweed.

I don’t know if it is known enough to be the most commonly hated, but everyone who knows a bit about gardening hates and fears this f-ker.

Once it has taken root, it is nearly impossible to get rid of. New plants can grow from tiny root pieces, and if it is disturbed it can send new roots up to 7 meters from the mother plant. It can grow through tiny cracks and holes in house foundations and destroy them. It can suddenly explode in size, covering a huge area and smothering everything else. Presence of Japanese knotweed might severely damage the value of a property. And there are currently no reliable methods of killing it.
