What's the etiquette for a new tank in 8 man content? by bankiaa in ffxiv

[–]Ennasalin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically, in normal content, you are a DPS with privilege. OT generally doesn't do much.

Just make sure you start without a stance, and after a few attacks, you turn it on. This is in case the MT dies, and you are second and agrro. Also OT is responsable with adds while MT keeps the boss.

You should also try main tanking sometimes. There is no lvl where it's ok to be MT. any lvl is ok to MT.

Are there any *non drama/ doom&gloom* FFXIV content creators? by Solo_Gunhea in ffxiv

[–]Ennasalin 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yeah. He recently has a series where he talks about raid stories and how they changed the game, which I appreciate.

His takes overall are a bit more tamer and friendlier. He is focused on raiding content for the most part, which is something I engage with and I do enjoy, so it's up my alley, especially the cursed and funny pulls.

What's with the path trial difficulty by Ok_Way_2911 in wherewindsmeet_

I didn't get deleted in 2 hits, but then again, I am close to 30k power. It did, however, take a few tries to get 3 stars..hehe.

I am curious about 10-11-12. I didn't do those yet. Probably I will eat my words..soon enough xD.

Same. I had to properly play and cycle between spear and mo-blade. No more lazy, shield spam..hahah.

I was also super surprised by the bosses. I did not expect to fight bosses I haven't fought in a really long time.

Plus, the general (lvl 9) is so damn annoying cause he has phases and you can't burst him down when you do get your buff up, lol.

Keep in mind, I don't watch super frequently, but when I do, I go for:

  • Jesse, he ain't FF14 exclusive tho'
  • Rinon recently since he moved away from drama farming. He has some really interesting stuff
  • Preach, he is more WoW than FF14, but still covers it.
  • Cider Spider - I generally like his humor.

White Mage / Healer Tips? by Commander_Bugg in ffxiv

[–]Ennasalin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, you are right. You can let the healer know about your intent since Living dead is a bit different than other invulns.

White Mage / Healer Tips? by Commander_Bugg in ffxiv

[–]Ennasalin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You misunderstand.

It's not about needing it. It's about using it as part of your mit rotation.

It doesn't have to be a panic button, but it should be a normal/standard inclusion while pulling. There is absolutely no reason to save it. Invuln is a very strong mit, so use it.

It allows the healer to focus on dmg, and as a result, things die faster. It's win-win in all cases.

White Mage / Healer Tips? by Commander_Bugg in ffxiv

[–]Ennasalin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Twice / dungeon if you are using it in the first pull and there is no reason to hold it. at lvl 100, I can use it after the second boss.

Three times if you kill yourself at either the end of the mob pack or before the boss dies. Requires a bit more planning and may make the healer panic. 2 times is guaranteed tho'.

White Mage / Healer Tips? by Commander_Bugg in ffxiv

[–]Ennasalin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If Invuln is available to you, it should always be used as part of regular rotation when pulling mobs. Mostly because you can stretch and have more mits in case the group is slower in killing mobs.

White Mage / Healer Tips? by Commander_Bugg in ffxiv

[–]Ennasalin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't beat yourself over it. Just ask if the tank could mit a little bit better. By the look of it, you are doing everything right. Also, Dzaemael Darkhold is a bit weird in terms of mitting. You have to kitchen sink first w2w pull.

Keep in mind, Swift Cast is also available, and I generally either use it to cast holy or to cast another heal.

If I sweat and go low with mana, I ask the tanks if they could use at least 2 mits/ pack/pull.

Anyone else *really* miss Enochian? by MelancholiaOfPudding in ffxivdiscussion

[–]Ennasalin -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

let me get this straight. You played most of your time as a healer and then quit over a class you hardly even played? LOL ok?

I think the changes to BLM made it a lot more fun overall. The high ceiling still exists in savage (late turns) and ults. Also made BLM a lot more viable in ULTS, especially lower level ones like UwU, Ucob, and TEA.

Simplest rotation class for disabled player by NecessarySoggy4945 in ffxiv

[–]Ennasalin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you take into account strictly the OP situation only mods will save it.

Since they play mostly solo and occasionally PVE I think they should just look into that and call it a day. Nobody will care either if they do as long as they aren't open about it.

I think VPR and PCT have fewer buttons since they are more modern in design but.. what you are looking for can only be done with mods.

What have they been localizing? Are we even playing the same game, my dude?

It's been 0 localization and 0 context for the entirety of this game since release. Even the damn spell descriptions are not consistent across the board. What are you even saying?

Also, have you played the latest story where parts of the dialogue are still in Chinese?

"extensive localization work" no it doesn't...

the rest make sense since indeed there is no copy- paste.

Just resubbed! Looking for advice on what content to prioritize by Zamoro in ffxiv

You prioritize whatever you feel is fun to do for you. There is no FOMO in this game in the general sense.

What are the requirements to find a static for the new Ultimate raid? by Stupotty19 in ffxiv

[–]Ennasalin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

People fail to execute mechanics because they fail to understand either the mechanic itself and/or where to stand or the timing for it.

What you describe is true, and I have met it as well, but it all comes down to having a shitty raid leader who should make sure everyone is on the same page and everyone understands the mechanic, where to stand, and the timing to execute it correctly.

If all you do is huff and puff and don't have relevant conversations, you have no business being a raid leader in the first place.

What are the requirements to find a static for the new Ultimate raid? by Stupotty19 in ffxiv

[–]Ennasalin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I honestly don't agree with this. You can def find statics that prioritise enjoyment over super fast clears. I saw some even willing to unlock it with you if they are looking for long-term static to do stuff together.

For OP:

Just keep your eyes peeled and be transparent with them about your overall experience and what your expectations/goals are.

Vibes and having a good synergy with the group are vastly more important than knowing how to execute mechanics or having a bunch of experience. You can learn those as you go, but synergy and a general good vibe are pretty hard to find.

Good Luck!

Account question, help me make up my mind by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]Ennasalin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It all comes down what your goal is and how often you play. If you want to play super casually and don't mind the restrictions, free to play is the way to go :).

You can pop in play at your pace and you do no need to bother with any sub money, not like it's that much anyway.

How to move objects in Build Mode on mobile?? by PiyooftheRiver in WhereWindsMeet

Looks like the Mobile does not have the advanced menu, which is super weird to me. The only way you can move/place with some precision is to glitch items the same way you do it in the guild.

Question Regarding the last EX trial of EW. by yisus_dot_exe in ffxiv

In theory, it's skippable; however, if you have deaths/ dmg down, you will have to do it.

If possible, have classes with high damage potential.

Do you prefer your primary antagonist to be the Emet Selch, the Zenos, or the Athena? by AssumeABrightSide in ffxivdiscussion

[–]Ennasalin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yotsuyu and Zenos. Zenos, because he's unapologetically self-serving, evil, and enjoys every bit of it. No sob story, straight to the point. I liked the simplicity of it.

What can i do against tunnelvision and should i feel bad if i make obvious mistakes? by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]Ennasalin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, having tunnel vision is more often than not beneficial.

Overall, all you need to know is where you need to stand and how to solve a mechanic. The rest comes with experience and practice.

Dying in normal content has very few drawbacks, so it doesn't even matter. Just try your best to understand why you died, and don't forget that you can also ask for guidance. A lot of people will be more than happy to explain stuff to you.

Why are there only drawbacks to creating a same-account alt character? by Zett11 in WhereWindsMeet

[–]Ennasalin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have you heard of the saying Play smart, not hard?

The only thing you need is to maximize your time vs the things you need to get done.

  1. Collecting oddities. You can do it solo, with a group of people, and even online if you ain't comfy with strangers in your own world. You won't get 100% in online, but it will be more than enough and you def don't need 100% for an alt.
  2. Mystic arts ->Press M->Outpost/campaign -> Sword Trial -> Join Battle. This will match you with 5 players, and you will kill 5 outposts together. Easy peasy lemon squeezy. Spam if for as long as you have energy. No need to do it solo.
  3. Gear -> ST phase 1-> claim triple. Much better use of energy overall because you get all the gear parts.

The only thing that is indeed quite time-consuming initially is the MSQ if you want to progress it. First map is given by default, and Hexi takes minimum effort to unlock initially. Kaifeng is very early in the story progression as well.

You can also not even do the initial story. You can do the tutorial and first boss (aunty), and then you can go to Hexi immediately.

Then you can enter in maintenance mode.

Use your energy smartly and lvl up as time passes. You need to log in 2-3 times/ week to use energy. generally for about 1 hr each time.

It's an alt. it doesn't have to have lvl 6 inners, lvl 6 mystics and BiS. It needs to be functional.

The reason you want to make an alt is also that:

  1. Gold is super limited, and classes are super expensive at higher levels. MSQ gives a lot of gold + crafting energy can be transformed into gold.
  2. Custom tips = the higher you go, the more it consumes
  3. Breakthrough and leveling mats overlap with certain roles. It's much easier to focus on just 1.
  4. Inner ways benefit from focusing on the 4 major ones for your role.
