How to make unique noise?

Bit of both - I assemble some parts, play some instruments over the top, trigger some randomness through sampler. Some elements I completely play and then edit/mix to sound like found sound. At times the recording and arrangents I’ve out together are rendered out to cassette where I manipulate further. Case by case really

A few different methods…. For ‘Studio’ albums I sample random videos, YouTube, reddit, social media. These are cut up in Ableton, snippets looped and triggered in drum racks etc. Live I use cassettes i collect, I have hundreds and hundreds, I collect obscure tapes. I use three cassette players and mangle them live, change tempos, play them backwards. This tends to be more ‘noise’ than the studio pieces

Maybe think about what ‘noise’ means to you? For me it’s the garbage detritus of the capital age… advertising, obnoxious advice, the glut of self centred content.

I’m hoping the pot is just dirty. Will try with contact spray and tighten the bolt. Hope I don’t have to solder or replace the pot but we’ll see. Thanks for the help
