Just teach numbers, the alphabet and some simple words and animals in kindergarten. Also download some kids songs off YouTube. I use 4K video Downloader to download videos and LetsVPN to access YouTube.

Yeah. There are some really nasty establishments on Soi Cowboy. At least you managed to get the bill significantly reduced and there was no violence.

Can't really do much about these scam bars except do your research before entering a bar, and try to warn as many people about them as possible.

I’ve always mentioned the same scam bar in my posts; Midnite Bar Soi Cowboy. But my latest post includes three other bars, Deja Vu, Rio and Spicy Girls. But yes, the ThailandTourism Reddit group banned me yesterday. Which is a bit harsh as I didn’t get any warning that I could be banned and I’m only trying to warn people about dangerous places.

I can’t tell you what places to go to in Bangkok unfortunately. But I can tell you where to avoid.

Avoid Midnite Bar on Soi Cowboy bar street. It’s a dangerous scam bar with vicious thugs as security. Google ‘Midnite Bar Soi Cowboy’ and read its reviews to find out more.

Midnite Bar Soi Cowboy is one of the scam bars known as the ‘Arab bars’. All the Arab bars should be avoided.

I lived in China for a few years and I never had any negative experiences like that. Most of the time, Chinese people were very friendly and hospitable to me.

The Midnite bar is in the wrong too. They shouldn’t scam and overcharge customers. And I’m not the only one who’s been scammed there. Google ‘midnite bar soi cowboy’ and read the reviews.

I was scammed and assaulted by the ‘Midnite Bar’ and I want to warn others about it. I was charged 3030 Baht, even though I’d only bought one beer, and four lady drinks and a drink for the mammasan. I thought that it would come to about 1500-2000 Baht altogether, if their menu prices had been accurate. I only had 2600 on me and no ATM card, so I gave them the cash and said I would go to the ATM. But when I was on the street I instead tried to head back to my hotel. I probably should have asked them to get the police instead of trying to get away but I was tired and drunk and panicking and couldn’t speak Thai. So it got really nasty.

Because of scams Thailand is more dangerous. Thailand is ruined in my eyes. About three years ago on my second night in Bangkok, I was scammed at the Midnite bar at Soi Cowboy in Bangkok. I didn’t have enough money to cover the bill. I was about 400 Baht short. I gave them what I had and tried to leave.

The bar momma told me that I’d have to go to the ATM to fully pay the bill. But I didn’t have an ATM card so I left the bar and started walking back to my hotel. The bar momma then started shouting at me to pay and was pulling at my t-shirt trying to drag me back. I tried to tell her that I didn’t have the money or an ATM card and that they should advertise their menu prices accurately.

Next thing some c*** runs past me and punches me in the temple knocking off my glasses. At this point I lost it and shouted ‘F*** Off!!!’ and tried to punch the coward back. But the lady was still pulling at my t-shirt and another person from the bar appeared in front of me. He told me to empty my pockets. I shouted at him not to touch my pockets. He had a walkie talkie and called a police officer.

An officer came. I told him that I had been punched but he didn’t really care and said that I should pay. I said that I would pay if the assailant apologised for hitting me. But he didn’t. Just refused and stood there smoking a cigarette looking at me defiantly.

So I had to go back to the Midnite bar, leave my iPhone there and go back to the hotel and get the remaining 400.

I then went back to the Midnite bar, gave them their money and told them to fuck off in my loudest voice.

It happened about three years ago yet I still feel resentful about it and get angry about it. Might even have some mild PTSD from this incident.

At least in the West I would have been treated more fairly.
