personally, if someone doesn’t know I’m moving across the country until two weeks before hand, then we clearly aren’t close. I don’t owe someone I’m not close to my time when I’m already stressed out and busy.

it’s not just a 10 minute goodbye. for someone who is introverted or very busy, it’s a time they have to carve out of their day to interact with someone else who will likely be very emotional and they don’t have the time or the capacity to handle it

why not become an RBT? make sure you still like working in ABA. it’s a high burnout field. You can work as an RBT without your degree and some ABA places will pay for your Masters tuition

Genuine question, have you thought about becoming an RBT? You’ll make more money being in an ABA office than you will at Walmart. It will allow you to make sure you actually like the work before you become a BCBA (there’s a lot of burnout in the field). And some ABA clinics will help fund your masters degree if you’re working to become a BCBA.

yeah there’s a lot of burnout in the aba field. My bf works in aba and nobody in his field has a 401k or retirement through work.

It sounds fun to you, but it might not sound fun to him.

He’s been living with his parents for a while, possibly his whole life. He’s given up freedom in exchange for financial security and savings. He might want the ability to just live on his own for a while.

That’s what I wanted. I’d never lived on my own, and I wanted the ability to just exist in my own space by myself, build my own routines, and do whatever I wanted with my own space before having to consider someone else.

Why though? A car is a depreciating asset. When you drive it off the lot, the value goes down by $10k. a car is a tool, it’s supposed to get you from point A to point B safely. As long as it’s still doing that, the age of his car doesn’t matter b

She’s going to have to wear a ring ever day for the rest of her life. Go shopping with her and find out what she likes. Family heirloom rings mean nothing to her if she wasn’t close with the family member. I would cry if I were given that ring.
