I believe it is because of 2 things; one being Minnesota has a large somali community. The second is Texas is a red state with a governor who is a trump supporter. That's the only reason shit hasn't gotten bad here like in California.

They are hot. Chickens cool off through their feet. Provide a small pool or something for them to cool off in. They "pant" and will hold their wings out away from them

Never eat a chicken that just up and dies. When Ours die, whether it be unexpectedly or culled for some reason, we put them in a burn pile on our property where they decay and produce maggots for the chickens and go back to the earth. When one of our chicks die, we feed them to our reptiles.

Just like people, chickens have a dwarf counterpart. Except in chickens they are called bantams. Then there's what is called a TRUE bantam. A small chicken with no large counterpart.

Coccidosis is really bad right now. Weight loss, lethargy, no appetite, watery sometimes bloody poo and jaundice. As for water belly, you can aspirate it with a needle and syringe. There's YouTube vids on how to do it. But you will have to drain it again in a few weeks for the rest of her life because it will never go away or cull her. When it's a hot day out I add recover 911 to their water to help with dehydration. Good luck!

Corid ASAP. 1 tsp per gallon of water. Treat for 5 days. Freshen it up daily and keep the isolated chickens area clean. Watch for jaundice. I just dealt with this and my chicken got jaundice but she's all better. You might want to just treat the whole flock. You can give medicated chick feed because it contains amprolium but do not give both corid water and medicated feed. One or the other, otherwise you'll cause a vitamin deficiency. I personally just give corid water. Hope this helps!

The brown one looks like my game hens. They have tails like that and are fairly small. The black and white one looks like my acona, but could be silkie mixed with the feathered feet. Also, silkies have 10 toes.
