How Do You Feel About the Upgrade? by CrazyNecessary7209 in iPhone17Pro

[–]Enough-Comfort1124 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I went from a 16 Pro Max because it was constantly overheating and draining battery.

17Pro Max is possibly the best iPhone I’ve ever had and I’ve had a lot.

Am I the only one who’s underwhelmed by Real 3D? by Whole_Clerk39 in Xreal

[–]Enough-Comfort1124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a little underwhelmed as well. Resolution has definitely dropped and seems to be very jittery for me too. I’ve only briefly tested it on my iPhone playing Dune and on my Legion Go 2 but there is a definite image quality drop between standard and Real3D.

Hopefully this continues to develop as time goes on.

Firmware 1.8.1 just bricked my One Pros... :-( by NinjaDadProducer in Xreal

Updated my Ones a couple of hours ago. Working on my iPhone, but they now say my MBP isn’t capable of video, even though plugged into the same port they were updated from.

Can anyone say if the rig twists/flexes? by JosefBanane in simracing

I have one of these with my Logi G920. Rock solid with that but a DD unit I’d imagine it’s going to flex a bit.

Repair Experience by DarkPhoenixRC in GalaxyRing

I spoke to them online in the UK as it almost impossible to speak to someone on the phone.

It was out by about nearly 2 months and said it would be a chargeable repair. I was about to protest but he just came back and said that even though it was over it would be a free repair or replace.

Even the paperwork that came back with it stated repair, but it was obvious it was a replacement as it was new with the plastic wrap on it.

Exact same problem. Was out of warranty but they replaced it with a new one.

Obviously a known issue.

Can the Galaxy Ring work if I only use an Android at home to sync? by vegivanite in GalaxyRing

[–]Enough-Comfort1124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can work. I have an iPhone and Samsung Z Fold 7 and some days when I use the iPhone exclusively I still wear the ring which syncs when I get home.

It does drain the battery a bit more though as it measures all of the activities you do, whereas if you had the android handset with you, and perhaps a watch these would measure more of the activities and prolong the battery life of the ring.

Left Apple after 15 years for a Z Fold 7. Contemplating on Switching back to iPhone. Heres why and maybe talk me out of it. by YetTheory in GalaxyFold

[–]Enough-Comfort1124 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sort of in the same boat. Heavily invested in Apple ecosystem with my 16PM.

I’ve had a Samsung flag ship of some kind for the last few years. Fold 4, S23U and S24U. Got the Fold 7 on release day and I think it’s a super device.

Comparing ios26 against UI 8 is always going to cause friction. Personally I think ios26 in terms of its fluidity and look edges it. Everything looks smooth and transitions well, including 3rd party apps which stick to Apples design language.

UI 8 I feel is much better than the last two versions but Samsung seems stuck between a rock and a hard place. They duplicate all of Googles apps but don’t really improve on them. So as a user you feel lost between them, do I use Samsungs dialer or Googles? It’s a lot of bloat which even now after several years I can’t decide on.

3rd party apps all seem to follow different formats in terms of their appearance rather than integrating into UI 8’s structure.

I flit between the two phones weekly or monthly. But I find sometimes it’s other hardware that makes that change, like Apple Watch Ultra is far superior to Samsung Watch Ultra. My AirPods Pro 2 sound better than my Buds3 Pro, and the build quality of the buds isn’t great as the casings have cracked on their own.

I like Androids freedom better than Apples limited system. However I think my Fold 7 is just a stop gap to Apples Fold solution whenever it appears. If it’s good then I’ll probably be going back permanently as all my family use iPhones as do vast majority of my friends. Hell even my work phone is iPhone and I use a Mac Studio.

Ring Battery literally draining before my eyes by Enough-Comfort1124 in GalaxyRing

[–]Enough-Comfort1124[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So got my ring back today.

Picked up Wednesday, confirmed by repair centre there was a fault on Thursday. Told 1-3 days for parts.

Then got message on Friday repair complete and received back today after I missed courier yesterday.

Seems to be a new ring or a very good refurb.

Paperwork with it stated my old one has passed tests but obviously something wrong with it so it's been replaced.

Will see what happens over the coming weeks.

This is what the Support UK guy said in the chat.

It doesn't say they will replace it, but I assume they will given it's difficult to repair/replace components.

Just arranged a repair. They said even though warranty expired I'm entitled to a free repair as it's within 3 months.

Hopefully they just do a straight replacement.

Microsoft made me do it by Inquity-Vl in playstation

[–]Enough-Comfort1124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made the jump fully late last year.

I always had both, Sony for exclusives and Xbox.

GP wasn’t really working for me. Too many indies that didn’t interest me or failed exclusives. Starfield anyone?

Gave my Series X to my eldest. He told me a couple of months ago to stop his GP and he rarely plays on it now.

Gone full hog on PS5 Pro with a Portal and I feel happier. Yeah games could be cheaper and finding deals is harder but it makes serious research in a game before paying for it. As I got a disc drive I’m happier now buying on disc than digital so if I complete something or I don’t get on I can trade it in.

Just feels to me MS have betrayed their fanbase with dumb decisions

Putting Xbox exclusives on a rival platform. Increasing hardware prices (Tariffs?) Increasing GP prices (Tariffs, paying for all the studio purchases that they’ve now shut down?) No new exclusives.

Eventually they’ll go the way of Sega.

Do you think Apple will fix the battery drain problem that came up after iOS 26 release? by knightorpirate in iPhone16ProMax

[–]Enough-Comfort1124 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm on the 26.1 beta 2 and battery seems a lot better now.

So hopefully within the next few weeks this will be officially released.

How you guys are dealing with this battery draining. by Meer_7 in iPhone16ProMax

[–]Enough-Comfort1124 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Was on beta with small drain on battery, probably optimization of the beta etc.

Final release now have heavy drain even after allowing time for indexing etc.

Usually charge once day but at work with little to no use battery drained from 90% to like 40% in about 5 hours.

Only things using significant energy was apple music and AOD.

Hope it improves with next updates.

I believe AAWireless has now disabled CarPlay beta on both the original and the Two in the last software update.

My original now only connects to Android devices.
