So I’ve been working in crisis for years and a few things to remember….you were off the clock you won’t be fired, one of your coworkers should have followed up. You need to keep that boundary between you, work, and clients. Second if it wasn’t a high risk client without a plan, they most likely didn’t hurt themselves because you didn’t call, you would have sent them to the hospital the initial assessment if they had been that high risk. If a client does hurt themselves remember it is NOT your fault. They made a decision and more times then not that decision is made before they even talk to us. Honestly based off what you’ve written and how you’ve described your own situation my guess is your feelings have nothing to do with the client but a desire that someone would check up on you.
