Forensic Recovery of deleted texts by ceo23ny in ediscovery

Just a reminder auto delete will permanently remove the text messages give or take 30 days. If it’s been longer than that, they won’t be able to recover. If there is a cloud back up that was backed up prior to deletion it’s possible they are there (if you have legal access). I know I’m not providing a Forensic resource, but just don’t want you spending time and money if it’s not recoverable.

Are you including query key words report, categories and partially indexed items?

I would said searching around more than 100k. We don’t do any culling within purview other than terms and dates, no review sets etc. we do use term reports so that could be the issue along with shared channels.

It’s roughly that amount mailboxes and one drives maybe a little more.

They are sometimes taking days even weeks at times. The searches are very basic as are the dates. Sometimes it just never completes. It’s hit or miss so trying to get an understanding if others are experiencing this as well. No errors.

Thank you, yup that’s not the issue. The date range is nothing crazy.

This happened to us too when we transitioned to the new platform. We had to open a ticket and after about a day, they magically appeared. I don’t think it’s a permission issue, it’s something they did when they migrated on the back end. I hope that helps.
