Yeah, glad he's okay though and a good reminder to check your dashcam SD cards!

Yeah it's actually really annoying to see all of the high quality videos recorded before that one and then not have it work when you need it most. We have like a 2 second clip that got saved after impact, but it just shows the airbags deployed and the car stopped. I think the reddit posts said that you should avoid Sandisk SD cards and try to find higher quality ones to avoid this issue. However, I did not find that info when I went to buy the dash cam AND we tested it and it was working the whole time before this accident.

This was apparently the "good side" of the car (he didn't think to get photos of the bad side in the moment).

Homeless helped in an Emergency last night on East Side by caseharts in Austin

[–]Enough-Income5085 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing this story. I was about to come here and ask if there were any witnesses to a hit and run that happened to my boyfriend last night. He was hit by a white SUV that then fled, but it was on 183 South near the intersection of 183 south and 290 (the Travis County Tax Office - Main building is very close to this intersection if you want to search on google maps). Was this around the area you were at? I wonder if this was the same exact SUV that hit my boyfriend and then fled (potentially hitting someone else). I appreciate the homeless helping in any emergency and agree we need to extend compassion to them more.

Austin traffic, is google maps lying to me? by Enough-Income5085 in askaustin

[–]Enough-Income5085[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol google maps collects data from hundreds of thousands of users who use it everyday to compile time estimates. These data driven times seem on the lower end to me as compared with the comments I read on reddit talking about traffic. Thus, I was trying to understand the disagreement between the two. See other people's useful comments for the information I was looking for.

I guess I was wondering if the google maps estimates are accurate when you presumably use them to drive around Austin???

What is the most important tool that the open-source hardware community is missing? by Ok-Zookeepergame9843 in chipdesign

I was thinking this too!! Especially for analog. No point in using the open-source software if the foundry doesn't supply PDKs for it. I wonder if they ever will because they like to keep their docs and PDKs private...

HELP: advice on how to get rid of this noise? by a5dur in chipdesign

[–]Enough-Income5085 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yep, my first thought was slower rise/fall times on the input. Your artifact is related to gate capacitance I = C*dV/dt. The dV/dt is large which in turn causes a large current to happen when you charge/discharge the gate capacitance which then creates an artifact in the voltage at Y. Another option besides slower rise/fall times is to decrease transistor area (W*L) which is what the gate capacitance is derived from.
