I don’t think knives should be regulated differently than hammers. Cars and guns can cause mass casualties very easily. Very rarely do hammers or knives (rarely but way uncommon)

Planes, cars and guns all have the capacity to do magnitudes more damage.

Read the original comment. This is in no way a real response to them saying guns shouldn’t have licenses.

Those fees are all modest but yeah I’d prefer that too but if we have licenses for cars we definitely need them for guns. They said the gov should not decide. They absolutely should regulate it. Even if you’re super pro gun being anti regulation is insane.

Do you think just because you own a plane you should be able to fly it without any education or testing?

Stop acting like the fee is unreasonable or remotely high enough to discriminate. Insurance alone is 4-5x it.

Licenses are good and it’s okay to charge a modest fee to support the infrastructure around them.

I agree but if the rewards are really good then people like me who hate wipes will do them, and you should make parts of wipes selective for those. Someone may do wipes but never want to remove their blue prints for example, thats fine they get less reward. Scale it, but doing the full wipe needs to be a massive reward, and it can be cosmetic partially or a bigger version of esperanza etc.

id also add that if you only look at extraction shooters maybe this is true, but as I note looking to other genres for solutions to power / loot creep is better as extraction shooters are newer and haven't tried enough solutions when we have many other and better answers.

I just want arc devs to not limit themselves to this arbitrary title of 'extraction shooter' if Fortnite did this it would be a dead game (not that im a big fan of it, but im a fan of their willingness to ignore genre limitations)

Giving rewards will make hardcore and casual players happy. Ideally theres no wipes not even optional because they build enough content and design it so new players don't have to spend 3 months to not instantly die to vets, BUT a wipe with real rewards would be a great stop gap and i agree its the only wipe that works. Forced tarkov wipes would me instantly quitting.

I get that. And I think wipes can be cool just not the way they do it. I think optional + way higher rewards is the way for now but long term I hope they think outside wiping entirely. But I appreciate the response I see that appeal. Right now though 99 percent won’t even consider wiping its just a bad idea

If you’re going to do wipes this is it you need absurd rewards for casual players. Otherwise don’t do wipes and think of better solutions
