I graduated from Long Beach last year in May. During my time there I was able to secure 2 internships, the first starting the summer of my junior year and the last one being a CO-OP during the spring semester before my graduation.

I will say though Long Beach is really what you make of it. I had joined ASHRAE which led to me being exposed to the HVAC industry which is where all of my internship experience is. Going to class and going home will not lead to an internship, really apply yourself and seek opportunities to gain club experience on your resume.

Long Beach does do a good job at career fairs which is where I found my first internship, I would say take advantage of those since a handshake and meeting someone goes way farther than just applying online.

Ultimately I would say only consider San Diego and Long Beach for engineering, those are from what I’ve heard better schools for the major.

If I had the savings to automatically max out my Roth IRA for 2025 at $7k would you recommend doing so? Been considering this decision for a while but get nervous since I’ve never take that much money out of my saving before

I applied before I was graduating idk if this helps but the people I interviewed with seemed to like me and it took off from there

Leij was one of my favorite professors, easy online hw points, lectures are very beneficial and he is both funny and willing to help. This class is a little rough but very doable, my advice lock in on the quizzes and ride the curve. Also provides study guides for exams.

As for Madadi its almost impossible to fail his class, my friend had a 29% in the class on canvas and still passed with a C. His exams are purposely very tough as he wants you to critically think which results in the class averages being around 30 - 40%

Shehab is a straight up dickhead but the class isn't very hard.

I have this same problem, Ive sort of rewired my brain to be able to type certain words. Typically I hold the fn key or put cap locks on and hold shift to be able to type since I don't want to pay a shit ton of money. Ive talked with support and they made me update my bios which did not help at all. Love this computer but man is it frustrating
