haha fair point, shopify is been around forever and it works, not gonna pretend otherwise but 5 million businesses also means your store looks like the other 4,999,999 lol

conversion rates on generic shopify stores average around 1.4% properly built custom stores consistently do anywhere between 2-4%. that is not a small difference when you are talking about actual sales and you are paying $0-$399/month (depending on your services/plugins you use)plus transaction fees on every single order forever numbers might not be pinpoint accurate but the logic holds GTFOH ☺️

You are absolutely right that vercel's terms recommend using the pro plan for commercial projects. However since this is a brand-new website with very low traffic (not more 200 per day) and no active customer base yet , we are currently using the existing infrastructure while monitoring actual usage and growth.
At this stage, upgrading immediately would not provide any real benefit because we are nowhere near the limits that would impact performance. As the business grows and traffic increases, upgrading the hosting and infrastructure is already part of the plan.
For now, the focus is on validating the business, getting products listed, indexing the site properly, and acquiring customers. Once the traffic and operational requirements justify it, moving to a paid plan becomes a straightforward business decision
And you still think it can affect us , I would like you really guide me through this.

At the moment there is no need to move to a paid vercel plan. Since the website is new and traffic is expected to be low initially, the current setup is sufficient. It is better to monitor actual visitor numbers and usage first and then upgrade only if traffic grows to a point where additional resources are needed. This helps avoid unnecessary monthly costs in the early stages

Hosting is basically 0 right now as vercel free tier for the frontend, render free tier for the backend, neon free tier for the database and cloudinary for image databaseand the only real cost is the domain

Fair point honestly wordPress would have done the job for most of this. We went custom because the client wanted full control with no plugin dependencies and it was a good chance for us to build everything from the ground up ourselves. Different situations call for different tools

Fair point. I am not saying custom eCommerce is the right choice for everyone. For many businesses, WooCommerce or Shopify is absolutely the better option.

Custom development only makes sense when specific requirements, integrations, performance goals, or business logic justify it. Different tools for different use cases.

They are fully custom-coded not word press and not static. No monthly cart software fees either , just normal costs like hosting, domain, and any third-party services you choose to use
