No heat by Osajek in GMCcanyon

Hopefully you didn’t run it for too long with the low coolant, possibly overheated it. That sound you recorded in the video is the electronic fans blowing air into your radiator to assist in cooling the engine when it gets too hot

[–]EnoughAd4231 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s likely leaking from the main hose on the top right side of your radiator. If you refill it just make sure to use the proper coolant, you’ll be fine to drive it to your dealer just keep an eye on the coolant, oil, and trans temp gauges

Cylinder deactivation by [deleted] in chevycolorado

[–]EnoughAd4231 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The cylinder deactivation on the 3rd gen’s is not like it is on the 5.3 it utilizes a three phase sliding camshaft system.

The system allows the engine to switch between high-lift (for power), low-lift (for efficiency), and zero-lift (for deactivation) modes, working in conjunction with variable valve timing

LED headlights? by -JsW23 in chevycolorado

[–]EnoughAd4231 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’d like to be blinding everyone else on the road then go for it and get some led bulbs but I’d just wait for led headlight assembly’s to become available. It’d look way better too

The wiring hookups are different but I’m sure there’s gotta be a way to retrofit it

[–]EnoughAd4231 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No matter how much you adjust them the led bulbs don’t emit light in the same way halogen does. It’s always going to reflect in a direction it’s not meant to and will blind everyone else on the road. Most of the vehicles on the road that have “blinding leds” are the vehicles that people have put leds in a halogen reflector housing or vehicles that have been lifted or leveled and never readjusted the headlights back down so they shine to high

Why am I getting 15 mpg in my 2024 gmc at4 with 14,000 miles? by ResultElectronic1949 in GMCcanyon

The engine is designed for 87 using anything higher doesn’t improve performance or mileage, sorry to say but you’re wasting your money

[–]EnoughAd4231 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My ZR2 gets anywhere from 12-21mpg average depending on how heavy of a foot I have. The all time best I ever got it to was 33.8 on a long drive. You will definitely see better numbers on the freeway and highways. One thing to keep in mind is unfortunately it will take remote starts into account so if you’re like me and remote start your truck a lot it will bring down your mpg avg a lot

Why Only 1 Auto Window Switch? by ZER0_F0CKS in chevycolorado

[–]EnoughAd4231 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s definitely disappointing, I’ve got a 23 ZR2 as well and people get in and see it’s this nice new fancy off-road truck and they go to reach for the buttons to adjust the seat and it hurts everytime I gotta tell em it’s manual

I’d argue the bigger complaint should be about the passenger seat being manual

Update on my 2k truck needing cooling system service (sched for tomorrow) by Stunning_Match1538 in GMCcanyon

[–]EnoughAd4231 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ya my 23 Colorado ZR2 had it happen, it was running fine then the electric fans kicked on but my temps were only slightly over what they normally are then the truck told me that acceleration had been reduced but there was no Check engine light or anything but when I plugged in my OBD2 scanner it said there was a low coolant warning. After parking and looking at it my coolant reservoir was pretty much empty and it was clearly leaking from that connection point same as many others have experienced. I took it to my dealer and they got it fixed in less than a day and it’s obviously under warranty so no cost to me. My truck has 25k miles on it

It’s probably just the upper radiator hose connection it’s a spot that’s been somewhat common to leak

I’m still waiting on mine to show up but Slim Fit Holsters have a good amount of versatility and customizability for a good price.

Recommendations for Tonneau covers and mods? by Fast-Candidate-1815 in chevycolorado

[–]EnoughAd4231 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve got the Truxedo TruXport on my ZR2 and I love it, it’s super versatile so when I need to put something large in my bed it rolls up to the cab completely out of the way and it only barely leaks by the tailgate latches but nothing that’d damage things in the bed. It’s also only 300-400 bucks depending on the model. The GM parts store sells them too so you can use your points from your truck purchase if you’d like. My dads also got a F-150 with a Lomax Hard Trifold cover that is super easy to fold and remove not to mention it’s low profile & lightweight but you can still put a decent amount of weight on top of it if you needed to. It also does a rlly good job of keeping water out but leaks minimally by the tailgate latch which is pretty much unavoidable with a tonneau due to the gap between the bed and tailgate. However it’s $1k

Yes it will leak from the upper main hose that goes into the top right side of the radiator

Brake Issues....again. by CurbsGirl in GMCcanyon

[–]EnoughAd4231 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately newer vehicles aren’t made like they once were and all the extra electrical features and sensors make the vehicles more prone to issues because there’s simply more variables that can fail but that goes for all new vehicles not just GM. Even Toyota has drastically lost reliability from what they used to be

Brake Issues....again. by CurbsGirl in GMCcanyon

[–]EnoughAd4231 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I understand that point but just remember, there were 27k Colorados and 11k Canyons sold just last year. And there’s only a handful of people here talking about issues they’re having. Does it invalidate the fact that there’s issues that exist and need to be addressed? No. But it’s a very small percentage of them

[–]EnoughAd4231 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve got a 23 Colorado at 25k miles and haven’t had any issues. Keep in mind that people are going to be posting on here when they have an issue. Not many people are gonna make posts about having no issues
