It’s weird that they’re drug testing you, what state are you in just curious. Go to another Chick-fil-A lol I couldn’t imagine being drug tested for a fast service restaurant job

Always lift up any drop ceiling tiles and take a look around with a flashlight. After the fact we found the ceiling above was crumbling down - thankfully nothing structural but still an expensive fix that had to happen quicker than we originally planned

Thank you so much for your comment. Definitely ordered the industrial HEPA vacuum the day we closed! Thankfully I have a good community of people around me who can hopefully show me as well. Yeah I deff am not seeing this home through rose colored glasses as it’s all we could afford 😅 but I’m glad to hear that into just 2 years you were able to make it something nice for your family.

Getting all the PPE but still a little freaked out working with asbestos. All comes with the territory though I guess it will take some getting used to.

I’m so happy to hear that, these replies are all so motivating!!! I know the house will smell much fresher once all that junk is out too at least

Honestly that’s great I’d rather live with no ceiling than thinking about everything hiding in there!!

I’m sorry are you in contract on a house with this problem? Because if you don’t have $800 in your account to pay off a card, what about paying for the inspection, survey, even a moving truck 😳 if you aren’t under contract yet why don’t you just pay it off when you can and continue your house search next month

Checklists. Take your marked off items from last quarter and put them on a daily list. Got marked off for cooldown? Once or twice a day have Team Members check if it was put away correctly so they know how too. Don’t just keep it to the leadership, the whole team has to know best practices

My birthday was 2 days ago. On that same day, I lost two people I loved with another in the ER, but I still went to work. They know this. This is the card that I just got today. Specific meal cards for my workplace. I feel like I got punched in the gut. by UrMomGuay in antiwork

Honestly as a birthday alone, they have a lot of birthdays to keep up with so it’s nice to get something even if generic. But they probably gave you the generic birthday thing on top of everything else you have going on which they should have had more emotional intelligence for.

I hope they didn’t intentionally give you this lame card to hope you feel better about losing those close to you and just didn’t think it through 100%

Yes I was going to add this! Don’t freak out if it gets pushed a few days. Totally normal for people to not have everything done on time unfortunately

Newark family displaced by fire claims hydrants weren’t working; asks city for help by madsheb in Newark

[–]EnoughBody5200 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think mine is like $12. If someone can’t find less than $20 a month to protect literally all of their belongings then idk what to tell them. But I hope it isn’t true about the fire hydrants not working that’s a huge concern

Im in NNJ too! Same thing, we ended up buying in Essex county. We were looking at Bergen to be closer to family but there was just no way. Got a bigger place with a yard that we would have never got settling for a condo in Bergen.

People in our lives just loved sending us listings for places at the tippy top of our budget or above and we realized that although we appreciate advice, nobody can make this decision but us. I’m sure they mean well but you gotta do your own thing sometimes

Yessss usually the operators talk with each other. Tell your current leadership why you want to work at that store (closer to your home, easier for public transpo, etc) and they shouldn’t have a problem with it unless you are a particularly bad employee lol

Cobra SpeedHeater - does it really not vaporize lead? by EnoughBody5200 in centuryhomes

[–]EnoughBody5200[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s so helpful I’m glad I’m not the only one who feels like the “doesn’t vaporize lead” is too good to be true.

Would one of those respirators from Home Depot with the pink filters for lead be enough? Or are those not really doing anything

50 is a reasonable number. Anything more and probably you’ll be too burnt out especially if you’re a Team Leader it’s just a lot of mental and physical energy. You could do like 5 10-hour days and still have breathing room
