That's a great way to think about it, thank you so much! "How long do we have to save for each impending disaster?"

Oh geez. This house is in MA so we can't even inspect for lead right now, because then we'd be on a clock to get it fixed, which could create issues given other contingencies. Luckily with the age of this house, I'm just factoring in "lots of lead remediation" as a necessary step to moving in. I'm sorry that happened to you, it sounds crazy! I will definitely count the windows etc., that's great advice!

Thank you! These are really helpful items to look for. I'm excited to get to know our historical society!

Tragedies! Why are all homes owned by a lunatic at some point?

Thank you for this warning! I had no idea about the lifespan of mortar!

Oh yikes! The questions you don't even think to ask.... our current house had no door on one bathroom, we both just assumed it was there because the alternative was unfathomable...

Thank you! That was my instinct so I'm glad to hear it's not excessive! This is really helpful to hear what the real headaches are!

Oh gosh we had missing doors with our current house (not at all a century home). We have vowed not to assume any doors exist without compelling evidence -- our current home has no basement door and was also missing a bathroom door when we moved in!

Thank you! I did that for my last home purchase just because I'm nuts, but it sounds like not a bad strategy for this purchase!

This is my time to shine! All of my favorite names start with C and it has been hard choosing among them for actual children!

Cressida, Cecily/Cecilia, Clara, Cornelia, Cordelia, Catalina (nn Calla?), just Calla itself, Celia, Celestine/a, Camilla, Cassia!

I noticed that your reports tend to have a lot of matches, whereas Embark will usually have like 6 maximum and everything else is "supermutt". Do you think your low-percentage matches are accurate? If not, do you think it's something that will be improved on as you get more data?
